The weekend is almost upon us so we know what that means? More exciting William Hill Championship action (hopefully).

Thistle had a hard fought draw to bring a point back up the road last week.

I don't think we are much closer to knowing our starting eleven, and we now have the addition of Kanayo Megwa to add to the mix.

The Pars got their first win of their league campaign last Friday against Fife rivals, Raith Rovers.

Could they be turning a corner following their own draw with Ayr, in their previous league match?

Really hoping we can get a win to build things going towards the end of the quarter and get higher up the table.

I'll go for a 2 - 1 home win.

C'mon the Jags!

Wow, unanimous poll: Jags victory!!

Oh wait a minute... still only one voter....!

I'll double it. From the brief highlights I saw of the Ayr game, we seemed to play with more purpose and with some luck (in front of goal, and no ridiculous penalty antics from the ref and his linesman), would have taken all three points.

I hope Megwa starts, and can buzz around as fast and creatively as he did against us. Looking forward to the live stream on Saturday.

I would assume we went 3-5-2 last week to counter Ayr's 2 strikers. I don't think Dunfermline have the same threat and as we are at home so the onus is on us to win so I hope we go with the following

                        Roberts

Megwa-McBeth-O'Reilly-Milne

Chalmers-Turner-Crawford-Fitzpatrick

               Ablade-Graham

However I suspect Doolan will drop Ablade and start Stanway and go back to 4-2-3-1

The 3-5-2 worked fine in containing Ayr but offered little going forward. Strangely Milne was more a threat in attack when moving back to fullback after the wingers came on.

If we play with last week's intensity and move the ball about faster we should win. I feel we try to play Graham into too many attacking moves (missing Lawless here), whereas Big Brian is far more effective drifting into scoring positions. He certainly doesn't have the first touch his manager had and attacks too often break down around him. We're not short of midfielders who are comfortable on the ball, so little excuse for our often easy loss of possession.

I'm wondering if Doolan will start Nilsson rather than Chalmers. That could in turn allow Ablade to start in a role not dissimilar to where Robinson plays.

He has been sacked before being found guilty.  If found not guilty or the charge not proven, then maybe he has a claim against Morton for unfair dismissal.  If so, Morton may have more than selection problems.

I doubt there will be many issues as it was only a 6 month contract and he's 1/3 of the way into it.

There's also the accusation of bringing your employer into disrepute. Sacking is not a criminal matter so less need for proof (of disrepute).

McKenzie won't be available tomorrow due to a cut knee which they don't want to rush him back from, and Wasiri is available following some swelling in his thigh.

Doolan stated that Megwa was his number one target all summer, indeed since the end of last season so it is safe to assume he will start tomorrow's match.

No update on formation...

Last week's point was a good point, but with 4 out of our next 5 leagues at home we really need to start winning games. Dunfermline have taken 4 points from their last 2 league games so it won't be easy, but as i say we need to start winning games, particularly our home games. Not sure what our formation will be, but is Robbie Crawford doing the Jagzone interview a sign he will start.

If memory serves me correctly you need a minimum length of service/employment before a claim on the grounds of unfair dismissal can be made.

I am not sure what the minimum length is but think it is now 12 months ( up a number of years ago from 6 months).

The exception to this is discrimination where no length of employment (or in fact employment) is required.

There is nothing stopping the player raising a civil action against the club other than would the cost of doing so be worth any anticipated financial gain. I'd be surprised if a civil action was worth it!

Hoping to get down the road for this, which will my first game since Morton - won't take much for it to be a better game than that! Dunfermline looked quite good in the TV game last week, Kane and Wotherspoon are decent. So it'll be close.
