TJF (4th)

We are trying to grow membership and grow revenue for the club.
One of many initiatives we are working.

Why dont you get the Board to balance the Budget and use the Revenue to call me crazy improve the Quality of the actual Product on the Park

as quickly as your raising it the Board are spending it on whatever vanity project they come up with

your never ever ever going to resolve this by handing cash to a Board who do not know how to run a Business

as soon as they changed the forecasted breakeven to a £280k loss - you should have removed them - when the cash Reserves went from £280K to £75K you should have removed them

if it has been the Jlo Board you would have been demanding they step down

now your simply squeezing the fans for more cash to throw at a Financial Black Hole of the Boards own making

Why ?

Jim this is a thread about releasing a strip. Not about finances where you’ve already hijacked multiple threads about.

Easiest way to balance books is to increase revenue, growing membership and offering decent merchandise is only one of those options to do that, others are being worked.

Anyway hope you like the strip, many do and have already purchased which is great.

“ there are other parts of the revenue we can squeeze further” as stated at the Club Q&A

We are no longer Fans - we are simply Revenue to be “squeezed” from multiple

“ groups” who all think its ok to keep asking for cash ultimately to give them more clout for there own agendas

here is a really radical idea - run the place at a breakeven

If its not the Fans they are squeezing for money - its the Club Assets they are squeezing by selling them off

We have 3000 Supporters - 10 Strips being punted at them ? Real Madrid don't have that many

No its about “ squeezing revenue” from the Fans to throw at a Financial Black Hole and keep people in there egotistical positions - its about cynically hitting the same group of people by multiple Groups for cash -  all with there own agendas -whilst wrapping themselves in Red & Yellow again and again and again

and the one thing its not about -is making PTFC a success on the Park

Are you sure it's not just you being negative about any idea which is not coming from you or your mates? That's more and more what it's looking like.

Nobody is being “squeezed” people have an option if they like it, and can afford it, to buy it. Same as pins, T-shirts and prints.
Ideas like this have actually got some fans of other non-Scottish clubs to sign up, as they like the merchandise and also now want to be part of something, adopting a club, so growing our reach. Including potential sponsorships.

The club can only be a success on the park, if it can generate cash to do so, we are trying to do that.
Where are your ideas? Severely cutting costs will ultimately affect on park abilities.

Grow revenue is the first thing to look at to be sustainable, removing cost yes, but not at a level that prevents you operating effectively.

A lot of us are putting serious unpaid hours into trying to make this club long term sustainable, others are putting a huge amount of time into posting false negativity on line, either anonymously or via their names.

Im glad I’m in the first camp and actually trying to improve the club

the Fans are now “ revenue”

If you want to improve the Club - get people in who can actually do that

go ask why the cash keeps disappearing into a Black Hole

And attack me if you like - my views on trading within your means have never changed

nor was I involved in cutting a deal so that TJF were banned from getting the Shares

I bought one late last night.

I thought it was a neat idea.

Every business is some level of money squeeze, and I can purchase what I want/can afford.

I’m not interested in every piece of merch.  But I like having options.  I’ve never owned a piece of merch with my name on it - for any sport.

I’m also concerned about club finances.

I was assured, somewhat, when they recognized at the Board Q&A that we can’t keep issuing stock or relying on McClymont to “top off” the playing budget.

I also recognize the challenge of Scottish football.  You can kill your club in two ways - going bust (no club) and having no ambition (no fans).  For clubs like us, the system seems designed to make you have to choose.

My personal opinion is that I’ll judge the board by what decisions they make mid-season and at season’s end.

I, too, am concerned my name will end up in the armpit.

Have emailed TJF to ask this question, but thought that I would put it on the open forum as well, as the answer may perhaps be of interest to others.

Is it possible to order the new 4th kit for another TJF member and to have that other member’s name printed on the shirt?

I hope that the answer will be “Yes”, and if so is there is anything in particular that I have to do or state when making the order. For example do I need to know the other person’s TJF membership number?

I wondered this as well as I want to order one each for my two sons, who I joined up with my email address, as I want to order as a surprise, sadistic as I am (ooh new name idea Very Bitter and Sadistic Jag*).

Re the name bit, I'm assuming that all the TJF names are 'embossed' on it in a repeating pattern regardless of whether they order one or not, but now I'm wondering.

If my assumption is right, knowing my luck my name will end up under both armpits and under the badges...

* Have actually requested to Admin to change my name to Tobes of Hades, but that was back in June so think they may have retired?

Yes you can, and you can let us know by email to [email protected].

We will be doing a sweep of those who have bought asking them to fill in a quick two minute form if the desired name differs from what we have on file.

Thanks WJ, and indeed we have already exchanged emails. Many thanks again for your speed and efficiency in dealing with all such matters.

On the order form, there is a section for notes, so I have included there the full name of the other TJF member for whom I am making the order. I have also given the TJF membership number, but I suspect that is not compulsory, especially if you are trying to make it a surprise (which it is not in my case!).

I'm just bumping this thread to say that almost 300 Foundation Shirts have now been purchased. That's a really fantastic result, and you've still got another few days to secure yours.

Thank you to everyone who has already purchased, whether for themselves or for friends and family members. We're delighted to see such a positive response to this fundraising initiative.

This looks like it's a great fund-raising idea by TJF. But as I don't wear football tops I have just one question. When's the next Thistle Pin due? ;)
