Guy Incognito
Â Damn. Foxy has been in fine form recently; apparently the first Thistle keeper to keep 10 top flight clean sheets since Craig Nelson. Is he out of contract at the end of this season? Â Seemingly Ryan Scully has been doing well for Dunfermline though. Maybe he could step up, or at least provide decent back up for Gallacher.
Fawlty Towers
He has done well for us but equally we did well for him. Scully has done well out on loan but I am sure we will probably want another keeper with a bit more experience for competition. I always thought Cerny was a good keeper and with Hibs staying down he might be keen to move up.
jags on tour
If he leaves then we should just go with Gallacher, Scully and Waters next season, save the money on another keeper for someone else.
Bleeding Gums Murphy
Heard last week that was the case as was looking for a longer deal. Â May be wriggle room yet. Depends where he sees his future. Â As good a keeper he is, he's had a lot of injuries past couple of seasons.
partick monkey
Did Killie end up getting Jamie MacDonald from Falkirk or are we still rumoured to be interested?
angry gaz
Who do you think would be in for Foxy? I don't think the standard of Goalkeeper in great at the moment but although I think Fox is a good keeper he has been often dropped as well .Think he might be taking a wee bit of a chance here. Dark Passenger
I'm grateful for the role he's played in our recent successes, but that doesn't change the fact I think he's bang average.
JeanieD
Totally lost form after being picked for the Scotland squad - but, in fairness, picked up again. A loss but not the biggest loss in terms of imminent departures I suspect.
Meister Jag
Great save in 2nd half today. But I still shudder when we face corners etc.
oneteaminglasgow
Not overly bothered. Always sad to see a player from the championship winning squad leave but there's probably only 3 first choice keepers at other clubs in the league that I'd take foxy over (Samson, Brown/Reguero and Cierzniak). I'd rather see how Scully could do or try to bring in someone like MacDonald from Falkirk. Â Thanks for the service Foxy. Best of luck. oneteaminglasgow
Add ******** to bang average after his arsey display at tonight's PotY. Â What did he do?
kennymac29
Parries everything out to the six yard box, and got a zip line attached to his bar. We need a good goalie, scully deserves his shot and fox has done nothing to show he's a top class goalie. I struggle to think of a save he's made thats top drawer and every corner makes me nervous. Â Cheery bye Tata.
1 John Lambie
There's better out there, generally crap at crosses, his passing/kicking is suspect, one on one's he's useless, especially on the angle. I'd be happy to go with Gallacher/Scully, ideally we'd want MacDonald but I'd imagine it's unlikely.
lady-isobel-barnett
I'm grateful for the role he's played in our recent successes, but that doesn't change the fact I think he's bang average. Â But can we even afford another bang average keeper? For all those suggesting MacDonald would be a good replacement I wouldn't disagree. At the same time you'd have to be prepared to accept a rather carefree character.
kennymac29
As much as loyalty comes into it, I don't think scott has any attributes that makes him unique. He doesn't command his box and thats the key for me. Â We could have anyone in goals from the last ten years squad and it wouldn't be worsened. Â Scully deserves his chance. douglas clark
It is a big step up for Scully. I hope he makes it.
jags on tour
Tuffey was a much better keeper than Fox, whatever happened to him?
Jag
With the exception of fringe players, Scott Fox is the one that I am least bothered about not signing or not being offered a new contract. Easier to replace than the others.
Jag
Tuffey was a much better keeper than Fox, whatever happened to him? On the books at Glenavon after a couple of seasons at Linfield. Looks as if he hasn't actually played for them yet mind you. Â Still only 28 years old.
jaggy
I assume Foxy has other possibilities lined up? I know DU was mentioned but I'd be surprised. I also would be genuinely surprised if he goes to a Premiership team. McDonald would do for me unless he is off to Killie, if not maybe Gal with Scully as back up would be fine
Gingerjag
Fox has had glimpses of brilliance but too many flaws and injury prone so time for a new goalie me feels. Edited May 24, 2015 by Gingerjag
The Earl of Hathaway
If Fox thinks he can do better than Thistle - and clearly he does - good luck to him. He's a decent keeper, but I've never seen anything to suggest he's over and above what we could get in. There may be something I'm missing but I don't think so.
