Lindau
According to Ramon, Shrewsbury have asked Thistle how much compo they want for Archie!

Jimmy McD
shrewsbury are 24th out of 24. bottom of sky bet league a bit of a challenge .. i dont think he will take it....
King Kenny
I'd be surprised if he left for Shrewsbury. Â Archie doesn't strike me as the sort of guy that would go to simply earn more cash.
Lindau
Then again he has always said he wants to manage in England one day and Shaggy has also said he fancies a managers job. Who knows. Be a sad day if he decides to move on,.
Vinnyjag
Realistically, any league 1 side can pay much more than we can therefore I think it will depend on whether Archie thinks he will improve his career down there, which I think he will

They are bottom so if he gets them out of trouble he will be on the radar of bigger clubs. Really hope he doesn't go, but realistically I wouldn't be surprised if he did. jagfox
Former St Mirren GM Brian Caldwell in charge at New Gay Meadow. They've been linked to a few Scottish managers. I hope we can keep Archie as we lack leaders on the park as it is. Then again it's a funny old game...

Pinhead
Think he will go, may be good because we seem to have went as far as we can go with him and he may also seek a new challenge and more money/exposure.
jagfox
Salop isn't exactly a footballing hotbed but he'll be given far more resources than those available to him at Firhill. He's got us promotion and kept us in the top flight for three seasons and there's not been much of an upturn in attendances and we don't look like a top 6 side this season, although I appreciate that would change with a positive run of results. If I was him I'd listen to what they have to offer down in Shrewsbury.
Fawlty Towers
Shows that the people running Shrewsbury know a good manager even if some on here don't.
Lindau
Given he is on a 3 year contract, I would imagine there would be a fair whack of compo involved especially if he takes Shaggy with him, though I think Shaggy would jump at the chance to be our manager

Lindau
The one individual quoted in the BBC article certainly can't be Hughes. If they have asked Thistle to name their compo price you would imagine Archie must be the guy they are after! Lindau
Juust seen Allan Stubbs got the bullet too. The dont mess about down there. Archie will never ever have the job security he has hereif he goes  Stubbs had a 3 year contract so I don't think he will be pleading poverty any time soon. To sack a new manager before October is ridiculous. The managerial game down there is radio rental but shit managers can be set up for life with the compo they get for not doing their job. Wonder if Stubbs would be quoted for our job IF it was up for grabs. Think guys like Hughes and Pressley would jump at being in charge as they have always been fulsome in their praise of our club. Despite my complaints about the make up of the squad this season I personally wouldn't swap Archie for any of them!

clarencegarter
Wouldn't be overly fussed if he goes aslong as the board make the right appointment. I thinks Archie has taken the team as far as he can and maybe a new manager wouldn't be the worst thing to happen. Look at how McNamara leaving worked out for us when everyone thought it was the end of the world.

The Jukebox Rebel
FFS ! Can this season get any worse?  Oh, yes it can. It would start if we let our leader go.  If it's inevitable, then I'd hope the board would have upped their game massively after the Dundee United fiasco.  £1M asking price, properly contracted with bank guarantees in place.
