Still a young man especially in goalkeeping terms, so he could end up a decent keeper. I’m basing that on 1 and a half games
ChiThistle
I see that Dundee have added a player from FC Monterrey, “with whom the club has a strategic partnership.” Would like to see us develop some formal strategic partnerships. fenski
I'm not sure I like the idea of having a strategic partnership with another club. Basically would feel like being a feeder club with a more volatile squad year on year.

They wanted to own several clubs and move players about, even if the success of one club had to come at the detriment of another. I think this kind of strategic partnership would be different and would be more in line with, “hey, our clubs have similar playing styles so maybe we look at loan deals.” If our own academy kids aren’t in line for game time, I think it makes sense. ChiThistle
Also, partnerships could lead to extra revenue. If we had a publicized partnership with another club - like a formal partnership - you could maybe see some of them buying Jagzone memberships to follow some loaned out players. Or, like in my case, you just become addicted to some Scottish club and can’t stop. 😃

There’s nothing to say this guy won’t be a complete dud for Dundee. Would prefer we were independent of any other club anyway Merry Christmas to you

jagfox
1610702829420789783.mp4 Ideally I would like a better option in midfield, a more traditional number 8 type who can dictate the play from the middle of the park and dig in or get forward when required. Not sure if we could afford that type or if we go for a younger loanee your obviously not getting the finished product. If I was being greedy a back-up for Brian Graham as Diack and Ablade aren't at the same level or quite the same type of player. We may be forced to consider getting a keeper on loan as rumours of Myles Roberts being recalled just aren't going away. We do have David Mitchell back fit but I would think we would need a match ready back-up or competitor due to his injury record alone. On the outbound could be one or two of our younger squad fillers. Stanway, MacKenzie and Lyon won't get much time so the last two would be the likeliest to go and get some minutes under their belts. Diack could do with a stint to build his experience and confidence. I don't see any moves for any of our other players as things stand. TL;DR - It could be quite a dull winter transfer window for fans of Partick Thistle.

exiledjag
The discussion in this thread has developed into views about players who should go out on loan and the type of player we need to sign, for example, goalkeeper, holding midfielder and striker. What I would like to know is: a) do we actually have any money left to sign player (s), and b) does anyone know of any players that we are after or, c) know of any reasonable rumours of players we actually hope to sign. Ross Docherty, George Oakley and Ollie Shaw excluded.

jagfox
To get things back on track with an unsubstantiated rumour. Jordan Allen has left Clyde to return to Falkirk as he has a full-time opportunity lined up. I noticed the other day he was helping out Stevie Lawless during one of his coaching sessions. Welcome to Firhill, Jordan 😉😂 Edited Friday at 06:31 PM by jagfox

jagfox
Scott a wanted man Ross County, Ayr United and Partick Thistle are all interested in St Mirren striker James Scott. The forward has struggled for regular starting action and that has alerted the Highlanders and the Championship pair. Scott has struggled to nail down a regular starting berth with the Buddies. County have expressed an interest while Ayr and Thistle are both keen to add more firepower to strengthen their promotion bid. It remains to be seen if Stephen Robinson will let the 24-year-old out in this window. St Mirren bought Scott from Exeter City last season and Robinson knew him well from their time together at Motherwell. 👀
jagfox
Interesting interview with Kris Doolan in the Herald with our own James Cairney. Doesn't seem to back the narrative some on here are peddling? " two-way process “I've got good communication with all the players. I will speak to them. I'll have the hard conversations if I have to. “With Harry and the other guys who are coming out of contract, I wouldn't wait till January. I like to get these things moving prior to January so I know where we're standing. “But it's a two-way process. It's not a case of we want it done so it gets done. Players obviously have their own careers that they want to foresee and be in charge of, so some will wait and see what comes up. “We've had these kinds of conversations anyway, so we kind of knew coming out of this window - what might happen, what might not happen. But touching on Harry, for us, there's nothing official. Therefore, there's nothing really to talk about.” Looking ahead to tonight’s Championship encounter away to Hamilton - should the fixture survive the frost and go ahead - Doolan is looking for a response to the Jags’ humbling defeat to Dunfermline last weekend. “Yeah, definitely, he said. “I think we all know it was well under par - funnily enough, against Dunfermline. We looked miles off it. “It was a really, really poor game for us, so it can’t happen again. We've been through everything. We sat down, had a meeting, went through what went wrong, what we can fix. “All you can really do then is train. In between games, the only thing you can do is work hard at training. That's what we've done. We'll prepare properly for Hamilton, but hopefully we'll get that response that we're looking for. “I don't think there's any changes [to the squad]. Harry Milne is obviously out injured just now. He's due back on the 20th. So is Aaron Muirhead. They're both looking to return on that kind of date. Dan Mackay is due back around the end of the month. So that's it. That's the three that will be working their way back. But no changes to the squad.” Edited 11 hours ago by jagfox
