Jag
Hands up who gives a shit whether the record books state, Osman played as a trialist or not. I'm now actually praying for some signings just so the focus is shifted and conversations like this can end. What does it bloody matter if he was a trialist or not? Liamconnollyglasgow
It doesn't matter ! But if you play 2 games and haven't signed yet then ur a trialist ! Pretty disapointed the player we were in talks with or whatever hasn't signed fingers crossed it's not another knock back and we r still trying ! Hoping the fact we have a settled squad n Ross count have made so many changes can help us get 3 points on Wednesday looking forward to going !!!! La Scimmia Rossa
It matters because the manager's abilities are being called in to question. Some would have you believe he was so desperate to sign players that he offered a contract to a guy who played 45 mins as a trial. That there's no plan. Just a desperate attempt to get bodies in. The truth is , time and effort has gone into scouting, selecting and negotiating with Osman. Since March. Just like it's currently going into other deals. The manager has an approach. It's laid out in Wednesday's programme. He should be allowed to implement it .
Derby Jag
Interesting reading others thoughts on their new signings yesterday. Not saying any were targets or we should have signed them or that it's a large enough sample but... Killie fans having very positive opinions of Chandler yesterday. New centre back also getting good reviews, whilst some disappointment with Magennis and he new winger. Looks like McGowan and Harkins had good games at Dundee, personally I'd have taken either at Thistle. Seems they were the better team and rest of new signings played well. St Mirren's new centre back Plummer getting lots of praise from both sets of fans and return of Tesselar has gone down well. St Mirren apparently dominated the game and were very unfortunate to lose. Lionel J. Botch
An amazing amount of bawbaggery going on here. Whether by design or default we have been limited in the transfer market. We have a game on Wednesday and we are weaker than last season. Long way to go in the transfer market, let's see how we stand when it closes.

Clock's ticking.

Clock's ticking. If that is true then its almost a certainty that player was the left back that Kilmarnock just signed on Friday out of the blue. Don't let certain people hear you say that or you will be accused of being an avid FIFA* player/Wikipedia browser. * Think Football Manager is a more apt game to be accussing people of getting transfer ideas from however

What utter rubbish, unless you have inside info, which I am pretty sure you don't. We need a left back, one, maybe two centre backs and another striker, so how can you possibly come up with a statement like that!
dougie247
Im going to get a Tshirt that says LB CB Striker.. hear it so often its starting to plague my dreams too! Edited August 10, 2014 by dougie247

Do we need a goalkeeper, a right back, midfielders....plain answer is No. What are you left with....you guessed it, so I won't repeat it seeing as it appears to annoy you so much! Wouldn't by any means say "certainly". Chantler had been on trial at Kilmarnock for a week or so. At first I thought Archie meant the player in question was attached to a club. He could've meant training/on trial with a club (Killie). He did say "just now".

Surely it would have mentioned that he was a top target and had been scouted since March - but it did not. Armand2
I'm sorry but are folk getting their knickers in a twist over the suggestion that Archie didn't extensively scout a player who has impressed in every game he's played so far? What utter ludicrousy.
Firhillista
Garcia has gone on loan to Tenerife. (From the official Wigan website.) Tenerife rather than Maryhill? Don't understand it myself...
Hopeless Unbeliever
Trying to get this thread back on track somewhat, how would people feel about Jamie McAllister at Firhill? Not sure why/if it's not worked out at Killie and he might not be the most inspiring signing at 36, but he's got plenty of experience, played 40 games captaining a Championship club last season (albeit one that was relegated) and might be a good option to allow Keenan and/or McMullan another year to develop. jagfox
Garcia has gone on loan to Tenerife. (From the official Wigan website.) Tenerife rather than Maryhill? Don't understand it myself... More likely to be the player Archie talked about in the ET. The lad Killie signed had been freed by Carlisle United for a start.
jagfox
Not seeing it as a long term strategy but Bannigan stsrting at left back and Keenan on the bench might be employed like the start of the First Division title winning campaign? Whoever stsrts I hope we get out the blocks quickly in case second season sag kicks in!
oneteaminglasgow
Is there any source for us missing out on the guy Archie spoke about on Friday? Cause so far all I've seen of it is someone on this saying it.
Third Lanark
I think some people are Adding 2 & 2 and getting 5. For all we know the player could just as easily be Steven Thomson chris erskine Rory Mcallister and on and on all guts who are with other clubs at present

Garscube Road End
Jeezo. This forum is turning into an utter shitfest. Questioning the manager's honesty? Ffs Archie is a normal human like us and has surely lied in his lifetime at some point, but in all his carrer to date has anyone had call to say he is lying? We are all frustrated at lack of signings znd you can bet Archie is more frustrated than us. If you want to point a finger at anyone, then goinv on previous, then look at his superiors at the club.
lady-isobel-barnett
Jeezo. This forum is turning into an utter shitfest. Questioning the manager's honesty? Can't disagree with that. Perhaps another subsection is required. One where folk that can't be arsed going to watch the Jags can post merrily away about all things Thistle. They could busy themselves searching newsnow and twitter feeds, pick a MotM and have a sack the manager thread all ready for the rest of us getting back from the game. It would of course require strong admin and constant monitoring to ensure nobody sneaked in posts that in any way could be described as objective.
