Mediocre Pundit
That's absolutely fantastic news - didn't think we'd have a chance of holding onto him past Christmas never mind an 18 month extension. Great business - Archie continues to vindicate his policy of taking his time in the transfer market to make the right signings...

Woodstock Jag
I guess this means Aero is far more likely to be heading out on loan in January. Still, a very good piece of business. If Aero or Lindsay get a decent run of games with someone in the Championship on loan, it might also free up some of the budget to bring another striker in before the window shuts again. yoda-jag
brilliant news. the first of several contract extensions over the coming weeks, i hope it is.
Jag
That really is great news. Our defence has clearly improved this season and I reckon he can improve it further. Higgy next please!!
Lindau
That tops off a great few days for all jags fans.
Mediocre Pundit
A good point made above that this could be seen as a statement of our intent and may help convince a few soon-to-be-out-of-contract players to re-sign...
read'n'yell
Probably the best piece of business we will do all January.

allyo
That's amazing. Was walking out of work with Scotty Magoo today, and said that the one signing I wanted to see more than anything was an extension for Fred. Great signing, and like others I'm surprised that we've got him for 18 months. Guys like him, Bannigan, Fraser and Stevenson on longish contracts shows a bit of ambition. lady-isobel-barnett
This looks an excellent piece of business. I was worried we'd have to alter our squad to accommodate Frans with a contract lasting only to May. Could've been a case of one step forward one step back. Signing on for another season completely negates that situation. Obviously we've got to treat this as a new signing and that will no doubt necessitate a player leaving and maybe another going out on loan. I also suspect this is a major signing financially as well. It could impact on our means to strengthen elsewhere but that's the price you pay when you bring in quality. I would guess that Liam Lindsay and Aero will not be available come January. With Frans and Seaborne in central defence as first picks we only need Conrad in support. At a stretch and in an emergency both McMillan and Keenan (presuming his loan period isn't extended) could cover a centre back position. So I would imagine one could be leaving us with the other going out on loan but that's me just speculating. eta completely forgot about BRE. Not sure where he comes in as I've no idea how he's progressing. Given his lack of top league experience it would surprise me greatly if he was brought in to the mix while there's much to play for. Something then would have to be done about his contract. Edited December 15, 2014 by lady-isobel-barnett
ThickAsThieves
I'd keep Lindsay as fourth-choice and either let Muirhead go or put him out on loan. This is excellent news.
Members Willjag
Seaborne is just a 12 month contract isn't he? I'd be looking to get him on an extension as well.
Lindau
Seaborne is just a 12 month contract isn't he? I'd be looking to get him on an extension as well. Think Dangerous Danny is on a 2 year but not 100% certain. Abdul and Higgy are the next two I would like to see getting extensions Edited December 15, 2014 by Lindau

Lenziejag
Am I the only one concerned about his fitness. He seems to miss a lot of games. Admittedly when he does play he looks a class act.

Mediocre Pundit
He hadn't played much football before joining us - I'm sure they're just niggling injuries as he gets up to speed. Doubt it's anything to worry about.

Ancipital
Glenn Daniels played one game at the end of the title winning season, but FF is our first permanent Belgian. I think.
