Very good result for the Jags today given the circumstances and great to see a couple of the younger lads did so well.

They really are quite unpredictable and it seems to backfire on folk when they predict a negative result against a so called stronger team, although I'm sure most folk thought Thistle would struggle today.

A wee bit more consistency could see this side sitting well up this league but they do deserve alot of credit for getting the draw against a side who have been playing really well of late.

1 down. A doing ensues!

oh ye of little faith.

(though in fairness, it did look that way at that point)

Stevenson is having a fantastic game. McDaid has impressed too. We should be two ahead.

agreed. the ping pong trio of chances in a few seconds period just before half-time is a prime example. but for some good defending and a lack of luck, we could have been quite justifiably 3, 4 or 5-1 up.

Best 45mins since 1st Div. Lawless is ripping the pish and so is Stevo. McDaid having a good game too...

did you miss the first fifteen minutes or just erase it due to the exceptional following thirty?

HT synopsis:

Ref awful as per. Fans calling for offside to GMS but every one probably on-side.

Keenan slow and very shakey. Everyone had a terrible first 15 mins.

Since then it's been one of the best performances from a Thistle team. Stevenson is exceptional in that role. Having McDaid and Lawless running about stretching the game makes a huge difference compared to Elliott and Craigen.

Balatoni and Lyndsey playing well and Doolan is doing his best.

Should probably be 4-2 to us. Worry about the openness of us but great watching.

Lyndsey almost got decapitated at one point yet no booking. Ciftci and United cheating unbelievably.

very good ht synopsis.

would say keenan was slow and shakey to start with but got better as the half progressed and he settled down, felt it was more nerves (as with other players) and getting up to pace. he improved as the half and whole game progressed.

game changed when we got tight with them, harried for every ball, not giving them any peace on the ball or opportunity to pick easy passes or outlets, and whenever we lost the ball we immediately fought to get it back.

in the fifteen to fortyfive period of the match we played some tremendous attacking football, stretching them with our pace and intensity, and being intelligent enough to retain possession and work the ball back then forward and round their tightly packed defence and two banks of players when we had them on back foot.

i don't think there is one jag who thought we'd win today when they saw the line-up given who they had playing, but huge credit must go to archie and the twelve who played for us ..... i am in no way decrying the performance and effort put into today's game , but when we were flying at our best, united were there for the taking.

second half, we lost some of our intensity and reverted at times to giving them too much space and freedom to look around and pick out a pass, but i wouldn't be surprised to hear some of our players were suffering from the bug (banzo for example just recovered from it, he would have missed the new year day game had it gone ahead), so understandable why our immense performance levels of fifteen to fortyfive dropped.

No not at the game Grand Master Yoda but did offer the wife the chance to go to Firhill but she turned me down insisting on a nice lunch instead after we had visited Birkenshaw Retail Park and The Fort shopping centre. :)

Garden chair?

Far too cold for that and even those top gardeners on 750k a year are not in their gardens at this time of year :D
