Same old, same old - faffing about on the wings without getting enough players into scoring positions. The best opportunity by far came to Spartans in a rare breakaway, and our best was a ball over the top to a sole attacking player in the box, which might have been better lofted over all the players there, including the goalkeeper, who was well off his line. Let's hope for a more tactically aware 2nd half.

Possibly got what we deserved  - beat the so-called big team in the Group and cannot beat the so-called (other) minnows - a familiar tale.

Spoke a bit prematurely ............... but shouldn't mask a fragility in the current squad which doesn't auger well for the season.

Very noticeable the lack of dig in defensive mid. Williamson did alright there to the detriment of the rest of his game. When he got subbed Lyon dropped back to holding mid for 10 minutes before Alston took over the role.

No matter who we're playing that deficiency in midfield will be a worry. I'm assuming Blair A is signed to play a more attacking role? If so, and tho' we still obviously need another centreback, but a ball winning defensive mid is almost as crucial.
