robphil
Have told the story many times but, hey, time for another airing... Friday lunch in the old Glasgow press club Davie McP was dining with ally MacLeod. Using the ketchup and brown sauce bottles, salt and pepper, sugar bowls, cups and saucers, Davie McP and All plotted Celtic's downfall the following day. It's a memory that burns bright over 50 years on...
Jaggernaut
This thought just came to my (celebratory drinks-influenced) mind: there must have been tons of Thistle supporters still alive in 1971 who experienced the Scottish Cup win in 1921 (maybe relatively fewer than today and the 1971 final). It's a real shame that we have almost no reminiscences to read from back 1921, whereas we have plenty for the '71 game. Obviously, that's an effect of the invention of the internet (and maybe longer life expectancies). Those online 1971 reminiscences probably started to appear on OLAS, and then continued to accumulate on Lianne's site. It would be magic if they could all be collated.... And to end: I've bought and read (sometimes twice or more) all the Jags-related books (I think), starting from Ian Archer's. I love them all. But my undisputed favourite is Lorne Gardner's on the 1971 sensation. Regardless of your age, if you haven't yet bought and read it, I advise you to do it now! ETA: I've never met Mr Gardner, but will happily accept a pint when the occasion arises.

I have spent the past 2 decades carefully avoiding any friendships that might result in an invitation to a Saturday wedding, and also being completely unoffended when invited to the evening reception only. After many years of success my luck runs out in early November when I will have to miss the Dunfermline away game. Grrrrrrrrr!
Weebaw1
Much as I love my 3 children, this was the best day of my life by far. Hopefully in my lifetime we may achieve something similar, for my long suffering kids and (now) grand kids. After the great Alan Hansen visited us, I was asked whether thev75/76/77 team was better than the 71/72 team. Not sure. But they didn’t win anything. Winter of '63
One of my memories of the day was coming out of Hampden and seeing two older Thistle fans in tears and hugging each other...not something that was common for Glasgow men back then. One of them said he had waited 40 years for this...I was 15 and thought winning trophies would be a regular occurrence...53 years and counting!
