Jaggernaut
This blog is an interesting read, for more than one reason. https://dreamsofvictoriapark.wordpress.com/2014/10/29/chapter-10-october-25-2014-partick-thistle-v-st-johnstone/

ColinKelvin
Superb article, thanks for the link. I'll admit I've been one of those occasionally guilty of making light of Dan's absences from the team since he got here; I'll think twice before doing so again. Lenziejag
Seaborne has taken a bit of stick in recent weeks. Maybe we should try to remember what he had to go through just a few years ago, and give him a bit of slack.

Barney Rubble
That's one of the most thought provoking blogs I've read in a long, long time. It puts quite a lot of things into perspective. Many Thanks for posting the link, Jaggernaut.

Paulo
Great story. Big Dan seems like a real gent, and a fighter. Thanks for posting, Jaggernaut.

brick_top
People can sometimes be quick to forget that footballers are human too. With the same hopes, fears and failings as the rest of us. It's good to be reminded of that sometimes.

Third Lanark
excellent read - well spotted. Good work from Dan Surprised they found Firhill so cold though they must never have been to Ice station Broadwood before - not that is one cold stadium
partickthedog
Recreation Park, Alloa for the midweek night league game immediately after the Hearts cup tie at Tynecastle has to be the coldest match ever. Bring back Eskimo Johnston. Edited March 26, 2015 by partickthedog
West Ender
Genuinely moving, you so often hear of footballers in a bad way when it comes to violence against women. Good on Dan for his quite dignified support.

Broadwood is ten mins away from me I envied the players on the park.
Blackpool Jags
There's a long standing consensus on here that the game at Alloa was the coldest on record. I wouldn't argue with that as I wasn't there, but one of the coldest I can remember was the midweek game (0-0) at Dens shortly after our league cup win. Feckin perishin doesn't even come close. I dogged school to be there, and kept thinking of the classroom radiators during the game.

ThickAsThieves
Alloa away is definitely the coldest I've ever felt. Was close to leaving at half time because there was a genuine fear my hands were going to fall off. Even thinking about it now upsets me. lady-isobel-barnett
Concur with Alloa. Definitely nae taps aff that night. Even the Bovril was frozen. ......and the pies were stone cold as well. Risking hypothermia just to see the legendary Dave the Ukrainian perform his acclaimed rugby tackle. Garscube Road End
Forfar is the coldest I've ever been at a game. Perishing it was!
Armand2
Just to echo two sentiments already expressed by others; great blog post (albeit slightly hyperbolic when talking about the weather) and Alloa is definitely the coldest that I've ever been at Thistle game. One other related point; I don't think we'll see Seaborne again. I know that he's under contract for next season but I've had a feeling for a while that he'll be away back south in the summer. He's a good centre-half, probably our best, but his unreliability allied with his probable lofty wages means I wouldn't be terribly disappointed should he depart. partickthedog
Going back to that Alloa game I am pretty sure that Jose Quitongo (who moved from Alloa to Thistle during the latter part of that season) came on as a sub, but my mental processes were so affected by the extreme cold I cannot remember which team he was then playing for. La Scimmia Rossa
The blog post was available on social media a number of months ago. Just making its waye her. Really though, you read that post and then let this thread degenerate into "coldest game i've ever been to " type stuff? Talking abou pies? FFS.
