If referees send off players for using industrial language, then literally ever match would be abandoned due to lack of players left. Referees are told to use their common sense - a yellow card for dissent is the norm if a line is crossed. A red card should  only be issued if something particularly unacceptable is said , eg. very abusively questioning his integrity. Would be interested to know what Graham said, must have been way over the top.

Strange that Graham didn't pick up a single card till his 20th game this season and then collects 3 yellows and 1 red in his last 7 matches. I don't know if there's anything that can be read into that?

Agree that referees are supposed to use common sense regarding language. Also swearing at a referee would usually warrant only a yellow. Whatever it's still Graham I'm angry with. Others in the squad such as Tiffoney and Turner regularly make their feelings known to the ref and don't get carded. Graham either went way over the top with his mouthing off or underestimated the incompetence of the referee, something that was obvious to everybody else in the ground. Either way it would be highly ironic if his behaviour has helped contribute to the likelihood of him becoming the next Jags manager.

One can only hope. Why is it that we have to go back to previous players/managers ? What other club has a former manager as a manager and 2 other former managers in the background ?

Jobs for the boys has to end.

Completely agree but if won’t.  See if Graham is any good at coaching let him leave and go as player manager to somewhere like Stirling Albion or Stenhousemuir then when there are vacancies he can be considered based on whether he does well there or not,  same can be said for Bannigan, Erskine(not linked but wouldn’t surprise me)or whoever Britton and co are desperate for to manage Thistle and stop this issuing of 2 year contracts when younger and better players can be brought in rather than where we are stuck with an injury prone Graham for a year and a half regardless of how well he is doing or not

Watched the 'highlights' still don't know why Graham was sent off.

He's too far away from the ref for it to be something he said to him, don't see any Cove player claiming for it and the Cove players seemed to be consoling Graham rather than any anger towards him, so unless he said something to the linesman?

Also should have had 2 penalties yesterday. Turner's was in the stonewall category however Milne is similarly unlucky first half.

Doesn't excuse how bad we were but the ref's performance just added extra salt to the wound.

The penalties wouldn’t have made any difference. The way we were playing we’d have gone for a square pass rather than a shot on goal

It would be interesting to know what Hodson said to get his yellow compared to Graham.
