Shouldn't laugh... (Inverness relegation thread)

Lots of mentions of “the club” in that article. Has no one told them that precedent in Scotland now says you can sink the company that owns “the club” and “the club” can be transferred as an ethereal entity?

Football clubs in this country surely can’t really go bust anymore, as long as someone is willing to take them on after dumping the debt.

Or, do different rules apply here for some reason?

No idea. I'd just like to step off the train in Inverness not  having to head off to the wilderness in a howling gale dressed like Captain Oates.

It can be a dreich place Inversnecky. I still shudder at the rain that night in the cup game in 2003 when Shaggy scored the winner.

Dumbarton appear to be making an escape from Administration whilst paying creditors in full which is as remarkable as it is rare.

I always wonder why in situations like this is all debts are paid etc etc why does the club still get docked points...surely the deduction for simply going into administration should be removed

I dunno too much about all of this, but I like it when a  "white knight" appears and rescues their team (and we are an example of this, more times than once). I'm  not sure where I was going with this, but `i always like to read about somebody wanting to sink (literally) money into their club, to keep them going....... just like investors/speculators in other markets, for their own reasons. It seems to be ok on the stock market, but some folk get their knickers in a twist about there being no "plan B" for football clubs.

Ever since I became a Jag more than 50 years ago, there have been news stories and rumours about financial crises, economic meltdowns and so on. (Who remembers STJ? I've still got pains from playing with younger guys  all night long.)  Some plans are more realistic than others. But PTFC continues to stand proud, and I suspect (hope) that it always will.

We will survive! (And hopefully prosper!)

That’s due to the holding company that owe them a fortune agreeing to pay in full (with non refundable deposit already posted) rather than get court action against them

The parlous state of Scottish football with 4 clubs (almost 10% of  the SPL) being docked points for various misdemeanours this season. Some of the cases are perhaps unfortunate- slopey pitch for example - but no club was particularly guilty of the out and out cheating that some clubs employed in the past. Some of the sanctions seem a bit harsh but will no doubt be justified as a warning to others.

Should have done his due diligence before signing the contract. No sympathy if he didn’t.

How could he do that?  I could move to another private company snd then get canned due to restructure or company going into recievership.  Scottish players are not on big wage.  A very strange take on someone's employment esp somebody who always gave 100% for us.

I'm not too clever with these sort of things but my reading of Charge 1 is of "out and out cheating".

There have been question marks over Accies finances for years and how they’re sustainable with the low home support they have. Would you join a company you suspected had massive issues?

It’s surely something his agent should be doing, though. Although, I appreciate it was a last minute thing and there might not have been time. But, given the parlours state of Scottish football it wouldn’t unfair  for any player to ask of a club they were considering moving to if there were any financial difficulties or charges from the football bodies on the go.
