2nd half was poor and it was lucky for us that Myles made a few good saves as welL as vital blocks by Turner, Ashcroft and others.

I guess Megwa wasn’t fit enough to come on. Also surprised that we kept Banzo on after his yellow card and foul right after it. It was a bit of a risk

I thought we played ok. Never really got out of 2nd gear today but then again we didn't have to because Airdrie are just not very good.

Even their fans didn't really put up any contest. Quietest home support in a long time.

Ashcroft and O'Reilly are a very good centre half pairing. Aschroft is particular is a class above anything else on display. Great to see O'Reilly get a goal.

Yet again we should have been out of sight at half time, and what happens they come out and have a go at us,  still 3 points won, but we do make it hard for us at times...

I thought our only real failing in the second half was a combination of poor distribution out of defence and not holding/controlling the ball upfield often/long enough. And the very guy you want to do the latter was on the pitch but Wee Stevie didn't really get started today.  Going to three at the back was I feel the right move but it does lead to deeper defending.

Even so I'm chuffed with the result. Overall played some decent football given the windy conditions, and on an artificial surface as well.

It is worth replaying on JagZone the whole build up to our first goal. It is actually an amazing team goal emanating from an Airdrie corner, and does include some backwards and sideways passes. Ashcroft wins the header from the corner and the ball falls at the edge of our box to Crawford. He releases Fitzpatrick who takes the ball deep down the right. He then turns looking for support and the move seems to lose momentum as Turner, Graham, Bannigan and Fitzpatrick exchange passes and eventually the ball is recycled back to Ashcroft who plays the big switch to the left. This was the only moment when there seemed to be any danger of possession being surrendered, but Sayers does well to bring the ball down and feed it to Robinson who slides in Chalmers. His perfect cross is met by Graham and the perfection of the move is only slightly spoiled by the Airdrie keeper getting a touch before the ball crosses the line. I count 9 of our players being in the move, with Ashcroft, Fitzpatrick, Turner and Graham all having at least 2 involvements. No doubt O'Reilly was making a good off the ball run.

We are behind the goals today for some reason.

Perhaps this may not be the reason but could be. Returning from my wee jaunt behind enemy lines (gate crashing the pre match rally in their Hofbrauhaus), I couldn't help but notice a rather OTT police contingent encamped outside the corner of our stand. The corner where our singing section were. Out of sight but literally only a few yards away. I guess if there had been any flares let off etc, the polis would've been in and about things pronto.

Another Fife team in league managerless as Dunfermline sack McPake 2 days before Xmas.  Believe they are our first foots too so hopefully no new manager bounce.

Apparently they have new investors in - who maybe wanted to bring in their own person.

Ian Murray is the favourite for the post - who I wouldn’t have minded seeing at Firhill if Doolan ever left
