Possibly opening a can of worms here, but were voters notified about the candidate who withdrew so they would not vote for that candidate?  Or that those who did vote for him could change their vote?

Or was it stated going in that if a candidate withdraws, any votes for that candidate would just be discarded?

Seems like simply discarding had potential to change the results, given the count.

Fair point.

8 of the 9 candidates who received my vote were elected. John was the one who missed out & I was unaware that he had withdrawn until today, although I may have missed the communication to this effect. Whilst unfortunate I see no reason to get bent out of shape as I don't think this dramatically affected the outcome. Congrats to the 'Firhill 9' who can rely on my full support. Sincerely hope all the fan base follows suit & that this support is as visible as possible.

You have a point caller, but in the greater scheme of things perhaps it’s just a procedure thing that got missed.

I think the best thing we can all do is get behind the new TJF Board - they have a significant agenda to pick up and run with.

Yeah I’m behind the board as well - just calling this out as a gap that probably needs to be addressed - especially if TJF is trying to demonstrate its legitimacy as the preferred vehicle for share transfer.

There was a formal board meeting this evening to confirm the hand-over from the old board to the new board.

We are in the process of carrying out the admin associated with the handover.

Obviously we want the opportunity to meet as a new group and we have arranged our initial meeting for this weekend.

Once we've had a chance to talk through our next steps we will of course communicate as much of that as we can.

Thanks to all who stood for election. Congrats to everyone who got elected.

But, what comes next? I'd really like someone to sketch out the next steps.

Because I haven't a scooby what happens next.

As @Woodstock Jag mentioned above, we had the first board meeting this evening, where old board stepped down and new stepped up. The new board is meeting on video call over the weekend to start driving this forward. There are a few admin things being worked on already and the new board is already communicating regarding steps forward.

Im very happy to have met (by video) the new board tonight and also the old board who I’d like to thank for what they’ve done in difficult circumstances but also for the support and encouragement offered to us 9 going forward.

We will get updates out in due course and my DM’s are open on here if anyone needs to ask anything

The weekend will of course be spent getting the custom made jackets, determining future initiation rituals, and drinking the blood of a goat.  :D

There are just over six weeks until the 2022/23 Scottish season begins, with the Scottish League cup group matches, in which Thistle are appearing getting underway. The last communication from 3BCs  via the PTFC website, suggests they want to complete the transfer of shares to a fans group before next season begins.. If 3BCs sticks to that statement, around six weeks is the time-frame TJF has to communicate with 3BCs, get into discussions again with them, make its pitch,  and become the repository of the 51% shareholding in PTFC. Let’s hope that everything goes well, with a successful conclusion.

Firstly well done to those elected, kudos to anyone with the drive to stand for this and for the time they are willing to commit.

Is there anyway of seeing who I had voted for or for the "manifesto" of the candidates?

As a bit of background I was a paid member of the foundation from day 1 and happily signed the open letter.

However, I must confess to being rather trepidatious about the self-appointed "Jags for Change" block however, particularly with them dominating the posts. My feeling is we don't need yet more splinter groups in the support and I don't understand why their candidates couldn't have stood on their own personal statements and views.

How did one become a member of Jags for Change? Is it an open group for others to join? Where other candidates given the opportunity to join the group? Are they intending to act as a collective in the Board and therefore push through anything they decide?

I want the best for my club and come with no knowledge of any of the individuals involved with the Foundation, either in the past or now, but, rightfully or wrongfully, this does leave a slight sour taste in my mouth.

I am more than happy to be proven wrong in this and understand more.

Derby Jag,

As far as I’m concerned, Jags for Change has served its purpose. We got together to engage the support on the continued viability and importance of The Jags Foundation in this fan ownership journey, to make clear that there would be plenty enough candidates to run the TJF Board to fill most of the positions, and to encourage others to run to work with us to make it a success.

The Open Letter was an organic process, but obviously there was some initial discussion between its original signatories about its content before we invited others to sign it. We are like minded and aligned about the way forward and there’s really nothing more to it than that. We ran a slate because we think it’s better that the members know we’re aligned and buying into the same approach than that they’re left to work that out from short candidate statements.

But now we’re just 7 of the 9 individuals in whom the membership has put its trust. Time is obviously of the essence, which means we will need to take some swift decisions, but as far as I’m concerned there is no distinction now between JFC and non-JFC candidates; there is just a board of 9.

I think it's fair to say that Norge and I the most active on here, and @jaf (Sandy Fyfe) is also an occasional poster. More of us are on the main Thistle Facebook groups and some (but not all) of us are also contactable on Twitter.

For my own part, happy to be a point of contact if people prefer to speak with us through the forum, but you can also email the Foundation at [email protected]

Professor Callison used to post on here about magic and shampoo. Maybe he’s not using the forum as much now.

I know that the purpose of TJF is to become an acceptable vehicle to receive the shares currently held by 3BC but I would like to think that the board will also have some thought to contingecies if 3BC decide that another group should be given the shares.

Maybe some forum on the Jags Foundation website would be useful to get the views of members as I doubt all of them participate in this one.

Following on from the joint letter signed roughly 700 fans. Several of the original signatures have decided to stand for election for the Jags Foundation board under a “Common Platform” with the aim of bringing the club into fan ownership using the only viable vehicle of The Jags Foundation.
More details can be found in the link, showing who we are, and what we stand for.

We would gratefully appreciate any votes for us if you believe in the same as us.

Vote for Thistle to win the title of Glasgow's Favourite Business 2017.

Finalists are listed here. I love the GFT & Tantrum Donuts but not as much as Thistle. Glasgow Film Theatre, the Scotia Bar, Tantrum Doughnuts, iOLLA, Partick Thistle and Tam Shepherds.
