Pre-season gets earlier and earlier. If it starts any sooner, the previous season will join up with next one! The ‘Wasps’ v Thistle! Which will have the better ‘sting’…or ..doesn’t it matter?!!

Kyle Doherty from Albion Rovers was on trial with QPR last season. Neil Lennons son is on the bench too

Did he fail when he played for us though?  Sometimes a player and a club fit.

Aye exactly. His move south didn’t go according to plan. He’s a lovely lad. Let’s see what we make of him tonight.

Whatever the future holds for Thistle, and I doubt tonight’s game v Alloa will tell us much, there will be other sides who  have more than us to worry about. Eg  It seems a certain Fort William FC have earned the ‘title’ of ‘World’s Worst Football Team.’ Evidence: In five years of competitive action they ended up with a goal difference of…612 goals! (But…perhaps they’re about …to do better! There’s a YouTube feature on them which proves when it comes to publicity better to be ridiculously bad, if you can’t be incredibly brilliant.) ‘Average’ =middle= okay =satisfactory =mediocre= but, crucially, ‘good enough’! And, that’s what the majority ….of anyone, any team, anything ‘usually’ are!

Not sure he failed at QOS. He had scored 4 in 4 ,with them on a winning run, before getting injured.

He earned us a much needed £350,000.  Hardly a failure.  Is he the new Sena for you - another young lad who is a scapegoat for you?

Enjoyable enough friendly played at a good pace. Possibly we were a bit shot shy but the counter to that was a fair amount of crisp passing. Senior players played in the youngsters, who all accounted for themselves very well. Looks like one of my worries, that McMillan won't offer much of an attacking threat, may well be dispelled. Got forward with pace on a few occasions. Fitzpatrick looked decent but was played maybe a tad too much off Graham's shoulder rather than in a wider position. Didn't get a close enough look at the other trialist to comment.
