Thistle88
A think he missed a great opportunity today to start Ablade up front beside Graham as well. With the players available a 3-5-2 would have been a good shout today. Because Fitzpatrick needs to know he isn’t undroppable ! JAG1970
The mentality wasn’t right, middle to front we must be the slowest most predictable team in the league. Quite how Doolan could watch that first 45 and not make changes for the start of the second half indicates complacency on his part too. Or he simply is tactically inept and doesn’t know how to change it. I fear for us next week, we are going backwards.
Derby Jag
I think we need to make a very clinical decision regarding Doolan very soon. The best squad in the league we have according to the board which likely is also the most expensive squad.

We don’t have one at all. Not one of our midfielders had a great engine they’re all far too similar !
westertonjagfan
Absolutely shocking today. Better players in every position and lose to Alloa. Alloa deserved their win and were clearly up for it as soon as they got a goal back.. Time for Doolan to go. JAGSMAN1968
I just don't understand why Fitzy, Graham and Chalmers start every game. That team was embarrassing, well done Alloa.

Stephen1876
I couldn’t believe when we had a corner in injury time at 2-1 down, and we left two men back 😡

Thistle88
Started the game with 2 Left backs on the park, why? Just made zero sense ! I would see McKenzie and Stanway start in the middle of the park than have Bannigan in the there. Turner in the 10 role. If he going to insist in playing the same formation every single ******* game he could at least put people in there best positions.

johnkebab71
Doolan absolutely clueless at the moment…tactics and subs continue to be all over the place (add in poor recruitment). Fitz is an absolute embarrassment.
Yellow & Redneck
Is this the McCall-Effect? Archibald relied on McCall and McNamara's signing because he didn't have much of an eye for a player himself. And now, Doolan is still relying on guys that McCall brought in the second time around, whilst his own signings have been piss poor. I'm not saying that McCall's signings were all stellar. But he did have an eye for a truly important player that could anchor a team. Doolan doesn't have that ability. He seems to just be at the mercy of agents who offload their rubbish. I still have no idea how good or not Zander Mackenzie is as he’s never on the park long enough nor is Diack, Ablade etc etc…..today was the perfect day to rest Graham and Fitzy and experiment. You have to worry.
laukat
The squad isn't that bad. We need a defensive midfielder if we are going to play McBeth at centreback and cover at rightback. We also have too many players in the squad who should have been moved on such as Williams, Lyon and Bannigan. However I don't think Doolan knows how to get the best out of the squad. He's fixated on playing the same formation and defaults to safe choice like Bannigan rather than changing formation to get the best players on the park. I could easily see Brian Graham stepping up and doing and getting a tune out of this team. Graham has a ruthless streak that Doolan just doesn't have.
PTFC1942
Difficult choice who goes first? The Board Doolan The Players Or would this be the first time all 3 went at the same time!!!
Fawlty Towers
As most on here know I always try and be positive and am a big fan of Doolan but that was rubbish today - no idea what the plan to win the game was as we started the second half. Bad performances are one thing and happen to even the best teams but lack of effort is unacceptable. I stated in another thread that I always think a manager needs to get the first quarter and stand by that but if after the Airdrie game on 19th October we are not seeing better results and/or performances then a decision needs to be made as the Board have made it clear they believe we have the best squad, have invested heavily and need promotion. Yellow & Redneck
Pathetic from the club and Doolan. That interview should not have been behind the Jagszone paywall. It should have been free to view. Otherwise, it was utter rubbish from someone who doesn't seem to have any fire in his belly. We "asked" them to play better he said. He strikes me as one of those dejected teachers whose class just talk over the top of him. No authority whatsoever. I don't see Scott Brown sulking and mumbling at the break. I'm sure he'd tell them to either sh1t or get off the pot. It's actually a bit sad to see such a legend of the club sounding so emasculated and incoherent. He certainly wouldn't inspire me, or indeed frighten me. Edited September 7 by Yellow & Redneck
