Barney Rubble
Higgy is one of our best players. Nobody can argue with that. If he's fully fit theres no way we can afford to leave him out, and if that means dropping craigen then so be it. He's done alright, but by no means done enough to say he's 'undroppable' for this weekend. Dunno. Folk have been going on here for a while about Craigen not scoring goals. He scores one and then all of a sudden he should lose his place............. And then Sean Welsh is back too. And then there's the dilemma called two from Balatoni/Frans/Seabourne. For me, this weekend Archie has the choice of most first team quality players at his disposal since we came back up. He has choices all over the place this weekend (well maybe less so up front) - he'll stand or fall by that. I'm confident that at 1700 on Saturday he'll have made the decisions required to assure the three points.
Norgethistle
Am I correct in thinking St Mirren haven't picked up a point at home this season… if so these are the games I hate as a jags fan
One t in Scotland
What parallel universe must you inhabit to suggest Elliot should keep Higginbotham out the team?
Alan Murray
You have to play your best team, Higgy if fit has to start. For me on his game would get a game for every team in this league apart from Celtic.

See you'se in Central Station some point, pished.
read'n'yell
sorry, how are you phrasing that? as in a demand, he needs to realise his place.... or as a rhetorical question "surely he must realise Higgy will always start?" More in the second sense. Footballers are aware how good they are and how good team mates are. When it comes to Higgy, I don't think there is anyone you could play before him and I think Elliot would understand that.

Blues Brother
Higgy is better at football than Elliot. True, and he works hard as well, which is important in my book.
Alan Murray
Gallagher O'Donnell - Frans - Seaborne - McMillan Osman - Fraser Lawless - Craigen - Higgy Doolan Huge game for us. We need to push on and take the 3 points here. St Mirren are poor so we need to take advantage, but we all know these are types of games we fail in. Some big decisions here for Archie, does he bring Gallagher and Welsh back into the team? For Gallagher I say yes but Welsh I would keep on the bench. For such an important game you are asking a lot of him and it’s not ideal having to sub a defensive midfielder when he gets tired. Need Frans in the team as well – we will be lucky to hold onto him in the window. He and Seaborne could be a very good partnership at the back. Higgy has to be back in the team, he is our main attacking threat.
AndyMac
Hope we win this game as it would be a real hammer blow to St Mirren, think it would tip them over the edge
simoncordiner
Apart from his goal, Craigen was awful. He's definitely not undroppable.
The Cup
Archie has hard decisions to make. It's clear to most fans that Balatoni needs dropped for Frans. Does Archie have the balls to drop his mate?

Does Archie have the balls to drop his mate? Are they mates? I never pictured the pair of them out socialising together. Would love to think they meet up for some ten pin bowling out Coatbridge way on a Saturday night. Just shows you, you think you know a person! jagfox
Day off and a nice day so I took the dog up to up to the University grounds this morning. Nobody about apart from Fraser doing some conditioning work with a couple of staff (kicking footballs repeatedly).

Who knows? Big decisions...

Lambies Lost Doo
Wed is a day off? It's a part time job. Weekday mornings, Saturday afternoon. The odd midweek evening. Compare that with runners, cyclists and boxers. They all should be working on technique today.

Mr Bunny
Bannigan appeal dismissed, misses next league game and first league cup game next season. So Welsh straight in or Craigen moves back to accommodate Higgs?? Hope O'Donnell is fit.
Mediocre Pundit
Fraser and Welsh back in beside Osman. I'd go with: Gall, SOD, Frans, Seaborne, McMillan, Osman, Welsh, Fraser, Lawless, Higgy, Doolan. I genuinely think that's a really strong team. And, all going well, Bannigan will have a job getting back into it. However I think we'll go with: Fox, SOD, Balatoni, Seaborne, McMillan, Osman, Welsh, Craigan, Lawless, Higgy, Eccleston. Which isn't bad; it's just not what I'd regard as our best team.
