Lambies Lost Doo
1st half was like watching Scotland under Craig Levein. 2 big centre halves at Celtic. Long balls to Stevenson did not work. Why not Doolan. Ball to feet. He makes space for others to run into. We did not play our normal game or to our strengths.
Ancipital
Is that the first time Thistle have had 3 black players on the field? We had 4, our goalie is Black as well.
Dark Passenger
Fraser's cameo was another positive. Let's hope his benching has had the desired effect.
La Scimmia Rossa
We've played two games. One with ten men for over an hour. The other vs a team who are on a different planet from us. Perspective. Anyone who thinks Doolan was an option today needs a lie down. Presumably we should have had go, this to expose our two young centre backs to a torrid time on the counter? That way, we could have destroyed their confidence early on and thus extinguished any hope some of us might have of seeing young players mature at the top level. Amoo was injured btw. La Scimmia Rossa
Why? Because the Celtic Centre backs would have rag-dolled him. He's done nothing v Celtic in last 6 games. It doesn't suit him. He scored in Oct 2013. Vs Ambrose. Edited August 9, 2015 by La Scimmia Rossa

At least Doolan is a goal threat who moves defenders about and is a million times sharper than Stevenson . Pogba looked a threat when he came on but was winning balls in the air with no one alongside him to benefit. We tried Lyle Taylor last year against Celtic and he never kicked a ball, a physical presence upfront isn't always the answer.
La Scimmia Rossa
Doolan has had numerous chances v Celtic. The manager got it right. It was a no win game. We lost. Let's move on

Lionel J. Botch
The manager got it right. It was a no win game. We lost. Let's move on I'm normally a fan of your work LSR, but this is utter baws. No game at home in our league is a no win. Celtic are better than us in every position but so are Aberdeen. So we just concede the games against them and move on as well? These are no lose games if you give it a go.
ThickAsThieves
Hasn't Doolan started just one match against Celtic? And scored in it?
Winter of '63
Doolan has had numerous chances v Celtic. The manager got it right. It was a no win game. We lost. Let's move on Doolan has started one game against Celtic and he scored. He has been a sub in all the other games against them - and it needed a good save from Gordon to prevent him scoring a late equaliser at Parkhead last season. That makes him by a considerable distance our most potent goal threat against them, though obviously there is little competition. .
thebiglemon
I am disappointed but not in the least bit surprised that we lost. We play ICT and Killie neither of whom have started the season well. This is what matters - close this thread now and forget it. Life is too short; go read some Murakami or Alone in Berlin etc etc
Members Willjag
This in spades. Osman got done twice at Firhill last season for non-deliberate handball in the box. Spot on Barney. Celtic are probably far better than any other team in Scotland. Can't understand why the officials feel they have to help them out with these decisions every other week. We all know if it were the other way round, the decision would be different.
Dark Passenger
Osman 'made himself bigger' on both occasions by raising his hands. Today was completely different.
Fawlty Towers
Osman 'made himself bigger' on both occasions by raising his hands. Today was completely different. You mean Lustig made himself smaller by raising his hands - a good trick if you can do it.
gianlucatoni
couldn't face going to see the game today given the last dozen or so times IO've seen them against the filth ... with the same sit back and carve us open tactics - I'd like to think that one of the players might, just might, mention to Archie at the next match briefing session against this lot that the parking the bus option hasn't worked and we should maybe go at them from the start
David Stevenson
Disagree with the Red Monkey entirely. White flag was hoist with the starting line-up and that transmitted to the stands as well as to the team if you ask me. Celtic have had many poor results immediately after Euro games. We were at home. We should be far more positive than we were. Points about Doolan have already been shot down. Anyway, two important games coming up. Hopefully we will be better against Killie than last time. See you there.
Dark Passenger
You mean Lustig made himself smaller by raising his hands - a good trick if you can do it. No, I mean Lustig raised his right hand to regain his balance. It wasn't a concious attempt to limit the space the ball had to move in. It wasn't a penalty. potty trained
Thought it was a penalty during the game. Watched it at home. No way it was a penalty.
