The transfer window may have closed a few weeks ago but Alan Archibald’s search for additions to his squad is ongoing. With that in mind, we are delighted to announce that he has today, on a deal until May 2106, secured the services of attacking midfielder - and Australian under 23 inentionalist - Ryan Edwards.

The 21 year old is a product of the Australian Institute of Sport and he arrived in the United Kingdom while still just 17 years old, joining the youth academy at Reading. Ryan, who can play just off the front man or in a wide role, spent a total of four years with Reading and progressed through the ranks making a total of seven first team appearances last season. During his time at The Royals Ryan also spent a season on loan with Perth Glory in his native Australia.

Ryan’s development as a footballer hasn’t just been restricted to his time with Reading and Perth Glory as he has, for a number of years, been a key component of the Australian international set up. A current member of the under 23 squad, who in January will be hoping to qualify for the 2016 Olympics, Ryan was a member of the Australian squad that participated in the under 20 FIFA World Cup in 2013.

All at Thistle wish Ryan well in his time at Firhill.

Should the board not be employing you BowenBoys; you seemed to have the knack for fundraising down to a tee?

This is strictly a one-off Sunnylaw - or a ten (or 11?) off.

Looks like he could be the man to link the midfield to attack and hopefully spark some life into our forays into the attacking third of the pitch.

Archie certainly hasn't given up the ghost let's hope the players and fans follow :)

Come on, jagfox. A bit of fundraising is one thing but I think you're expecting a bit much from me!

:)
