Would be a strange one if true as we have an abundance of wingers now, especially when Lawless is back. As you say surprising if true. What we really need is a defensive midfielder and not another winger.
Albert's Ghost
Would've made some sense before we signed Smith. Short-term deal, gives us cover for Chalmers & Fitz, and gives him some shop-window. I think it's old news.
Fearchar
I remember a certain Chris Erskine being signed as a superfluous midfielder when what we really needed was a striker, at that time in the form of Kris Doolan. Sometime you just have to seize the opportunity when it presents itself.

Maybe the nearest we've had to a Denis McQuade since the times of, well, Denis McQuade.

I asked him who in the squad impressed him. He answered rather evasively but did add that the young lad on the left wing reminded him of himself. Did agree. laukat
I can't understand why we need another winger or attacker unless we have another long term injury. However If this is the same person we are rumoured to be looking at and we do sign him maybe don't put him on penalties Penalty shocker! Accrington crash out following hilarious effort | Video | Watch TV Show | Sky Sports Squad is getting quite large with 26 (admittedly 2 long term injuries) possibly 27 but we could do with another right-back and another midfielder so I would assume even if we don't sign someone else then at the very least Lyon and Mackenzie would be heading out? Perhaps we also need to get another couple out and to my mind Williams, Stanway and Diack's opportunities looked limited so are perhaps candidates for loaning out . McCready should probably also be going out on loan if Mitchell recovers

King Kenny
It'll be interesting to see how the likes of Nilsson, Ablade, Smith, Sayers etc get on. Doolan really needs them all to be hits or we're suddenly looking at an inflated squad with more misses than hits in the transfer window. Turner we know will come good but Crawford and Ashcroft really need to up their level. To be fair to Ashcroft, he's been out a long time so hopefully he'll come good with more games. Injuries to Lawless, Mitchell, Mackay and the suspension of Robinson haven't helped but the squad is looking a bit disjointed at the minute. I wonder if we'll see much movement in or out over the next few days. The likes of Lyon, Mackenzie (never gets played in his position) really could be doing with a loan move at least for the sake of their careers. I'd imagine Williams might have been another who could have moved on but that probably depends on Muirhead's injury.
exiledjag
Tshimanga looks a really good potential signing. If we were fortunate enough to get him it would suggest to me that we are looking to play with 2 up front - Tshimanga and Ablade - with Graham and perhaps Diack on the bench. I think we are moving, very slowly, away from the notion that Graham should be an automatic starter. However I wonder how we can afford to sign a player like Tshmanga when we have only 75K in the bank. I also wonder why, having watched the video clip, he is not playing regularly with his club, Peterborough who are lying 7th in league one! Won’t be happening as he has joined Swindon on loan for rest of season.
jagfox
Also Graham would have started if he hadn't picked up a knock.
Stephen1876
Slightly off topic but Ayr have signed Connor McAvoy, which is a good bit of business

And tho' he was never that bad for them, McAvoy is certainly an improvement on McGinty. Guess the absence this season of a Kilmarnock or one of the Dundee clubs has perhaps been key to Ayr (maybe other clubs) stretching their budget.
