Saw it in the flesh (so to say) today and the most pleasing part of it is that the red and yellow hues are far closer to the old time reds and yellows of the 60s and 70s rather than the scarlet and highlighter yellows that have been prevalent in more recent times.

For me the worst one was (if I remember correctly) around the time of STJ. The team was rank, and matched by the jersey: the hoops, instead of red and yellow, appeared more like pink and lemon. Always hated it (but have always loved the 50s and 60s R&Y hoops).

Me, too. I'm old fashioned - I know! - but I don't think black should be a prominent feature of any thistle shirt. Red and yellow for this lad...

I could give this all my likes for the year. For trim yes, for shorts fine, but black should not be a prominent colour on a Thistle shirt

I can vaguely remember a song being sung (late 1990s?) by the Jags support which went something like this, and seemed to get the colour proportions about right:

Red and yellow and red and yellow and red and yellow and a wee bit o' black

(Repeat first line)

We're Partick Thistle! (probably repeated)

Not sure where it went from there. Can anyone else recall?

For those that have been in the Graves shop what’s the other new Partick Thistle merchandise like - training tops, polo shirts etc

Its usually a really good range that ONeils produce for the club

You mean you can actually go and buy one in advance? Headstone included? 🙃

For me, the best quality leisurewear we've ever had was the Puma period during the earlier tie-up with Greaves. Well, at the start of it, at least. Then somebody thought Thistle fans would like to buy Airdie diamond-like tops, and it went quickly downhill after that. I still have a few excellent quality t-shirts and polos from that early period.

Fair enough. It definitely happened, as I can still hear the song in my head! It was sung occasionally by our away support, but did not ever gain any traction at Firhill. For some reason I can recall singing it at Love Street, so it must have been when we were in the same league as St Mirren.

I think that it may have been only a temporary happening over a handful of games and it never entered the more permanent songbook. I will consult with family members and see if I can tie this down in terms of what season it might have been.

Had you perhaps been to a pub prior to hearing this song ?

We tend not to be in the same league as St Mirren very often since the early 80’s so it should be quite easy to work out an approximate year.
