BowenBoys
That's a pretty embarrassing assumption. Yep.
jagfox
I assume this was arranged by the new commercial manager and not Maxy?
a f kincaid
Pun police alert! OHMygod this'll SPARK off some complaints. A VOLTface. PYLON the pressure and they may change their mind. Seriously, very sad. It will always be Firhill.
Paulo
I totally get that it's not the preferred thing to do. I don't really like it, but it's free money. I don't really get how we could get 'stung' on this deal though? What's the outlay on our part that we might not get back? They don't pay, we stop calling the ground by the new name. Jaggernaut
At least Propco didn't look to re-name the place..... yet.

Seriously, very sad. It will always be Firhill. It's sad, but doesn't come as any real SHOCK. Part of a THREE-PINNED approach to keeping the club healthy: good results, good sponsorship, good management.
Yellow & Redneck
The Energy Check Stadium at Firhill. At least it now sounds like a Division 1 stadium. Getting prepared for next season already.
allyo
Paulo, totally agree. Don't see any risk in this deal. No outlay, no obligations. Solid cash for a mickey mouse title that no one will use. But it get's the company's name on TV, internet sites, maybe mentions on the radio (but I'd guess they'll mostly just say Firhill). Win-win
lady-isobel-barnett
It's always been my dream to see the William Hill Scottish Cup paraded around the Energy Check Stadium at Firhill. It'll remain just a dream if we play like we did last week at the Global Energy Stadium or indeed our Betfred game at the Tony Macaroni. partickthedog
We must insist on immediate payment by wire transfer to our current account. We can then buy Meterovic from Newcastle. Atmosphere on Friday should be electric and I am expecting the ohm team to show more resistance. Coat already on to save on heating bills.
Norgethistle
I hope so Big Col because his longest running business turned over 60 grand last year.... So do I, they have also shirt sponsored Shrewsbury, and ground sponsored the shakers (bury), for a group of 6 companies (only 2 trading) this is huge outlay based on their value of £200k, this "advertising" is probably worth 3 or more times the business worth (as per 2016's books)
Jagsman
so is there an estimated figure as every time we here 6 figure some we always think bottom of that
allyo
Such a meaningless phrase. 'Somewhere between a hundred grand and ten times that.' But the reality is that if it was much more than a hundred grand they would probably rather say that. Hence the assumption to the low end. Robyn Smith who is in the picture has a twitter account where she 'followed' nearly every senior club in england and her last tweet in May this year is basically asking clubs to contact her if they are looking for sponsors. Everything about Winton seems dodgy as hell!Even Energy Check' Facebook page is filled with positive five star reviews by company staff members to combat the very negative comments left by company customers! If the cheque has cleared then fair enough but Winton looks like the kind of guy thats heading for Watchdog Edited September 13, 2017 by middleschoolfrown
Pinhead
pmsl it is a win win situation, he has obviously at worst paid up for this season otherwise it would have not been announced (well i would hope that was the case anyway) - if he fails to pay the rest the name gets pulled. There is nothing to lose here for us.
gianlucatoni
Doesn't Firhill look lovely from the Bing ... now if only we could have the cash to pour some concrete and erect some barriers ...

sandy
It's a shame we have to do this but the most disappointing thing is those bloody photographs. I'm sure I'm not the only one to assume that the Corporate Partnership Manager of The Energy Check is the one in the suit. Therefore the third (unnamed) person is spurious 'eye candy'. Surely we (Scottish football/society) has progressed beyond the need for this rubbish. Was talking to Robyn on LinkedIn, BB. She said something about ordering 3 big bags of cement and a pair of XXL wellies - and could she have your address. Of course I gave her the details, presumably she just wants to help you repair your patio?
