Don Cowie told he can leave Hearts for free. He is the type of player we need. Experienced (35), leader on the park and can play a few positions.

Don’t imagine we will get him though, County apparently favourites.

Certainly experienced and not as ugly as Willo Flood. I’m in apart from the lure of the Dingwallian petro-chemical dollar.

ETA: County seem to have plenty of bodies in midfield.

Totally agree to Vinnyjag Don Cowie in my opinion would be a great signing i thought he done well for Hearts last season also has bags of experience but it remains to be seen if we could get him to the club

Very likely he'll end up at County. Had a few drinks with his father earlier in the year and he gave me the impression that would be the case. Think his father lives in Strathpeffer and of course Cowie is from that area.

Btw Cowie himself is a clean living guy so probably still has a fair time left in the game despite his age. .

Interesting. Patience is a virtue, we are rebuilding nicely. Good squad feeling at the Open Day.

That has got to be the most ridiculous statement ever what world do you live ??? Patience is a virtue......once again we are well short of a full squad prior to the start of a season. Good feeling at the open day that’s nice after the poor performance 24 hours previously... what exactly was the good feeling “thank god it wasn’t raining “

This squad should be more than ready to go but is not ....still way short in many departments, up front, midfield and at the back.

Doubt any new players will be over the line by Saturday which is so bloody frustrating. Don't think any club in the division conducts its transfer activity as slowly and laboriously as us.

At least we have targeted a loan striker who does seem to have a future in the game, and hopefully we are doing the same with a CDM (just not another loaner hopefully).

Looking at it from the parent club's point of view Alloa could be the better option. Likely to get more game time but still against the same standard of opposition.

Yes, but equally Jack Ross will probably thing Archie has a better record of improving players than Alloa might have so the day to day coaching might swing it back the other way, along with the assumption (and we all know it could be a flawed assumption!) that a striker would see more of the ball with us than playing for Alloa.
