jagfox
A big game for Thistle on Saturday as we visit old friends Airdrie on Saturday Both teams coming off defeats versus Livingston but who will show the gumption to bounce back better? The home team have been awful but it is a venue we haven't played particularly well at in the last couple of seasons and a potential banana skin awaits. Hoping for a Jags win and despite looking at the league table and recent form I'm not particularly confident.
Dick Dastardly
The form team in the league against the side that can’t buy a win. There is only one possible outcome. Something must give in this game. Either our appalling record on plastic pitches, or Airdrie’s run of defeats.

lady-isobel-barnett
Feel as we'll have to not just win battles in midfield but also get our goals thru that area. Enough said about Fitzpatrick but the left flank is further hampered with no Milne. On the other side Turner has been doing a decent job as stand in but naturally isn't too effective there. And if Airdrie defenders show Chalmers onto his right foot he too can be ineffective. So we need to be using the ball more positively thru midfield rather than that default ball to the wide areas. Without Turner in centre mid much depends on how Robinson plays. We know he'll give a lot of effort and track back when needed. But that's at a cost, as it's in advanced midfield where he's needed most. Be happy with a scrappy three points, even if it's a game promotion aspirants should really be winning in style and comfortably at that. I thought Sayers was quite effective from an attacking point of view v. Livi. He put in at least two great crosses which unfortnately Graham made a bit of a hash of. JeanieD
Weather might make the game even more of a lottery.

The two chances I recall were crosses from separate flanks so might not have been both from Sayers. The first opportuity that I recall was a ball from our righthand side. Graham was sandwiched between 2 Livvy. Players and tried to direct the ball with his hip or knee into the goal. I think his line of vision was blocked and he improvise because he saw the ball too late. The other chance I recalled was a cross from our left when he tried to slide into the ball and sent it wide. The lady pundit (is it Leanne Crichton) said he needed to take another step then slide to connect with the ball. I think had he followed this advice he might have been too late to reach the ball. Also another step would have allowed the defenders on either side of him the opportunity to beat him to the ball or block any scoring attempt. I think he did the right thing by sliding in early and by doing so he beat the defenders to the ball. It was just a very difficult chance and perhaps half chance. JAG1970
With QP losing tonight it’s an opportunity for us to take 3 points tomorrow and beat QP next week and go 7 points ahead of them with our game in hand against Morton after that. Megwa likely to be back tomorrow albeit on the bench.

westertonjagfan
Let's hope we don't start doing hoofball in this weather. They'll be heading to Coatbridge to retrieve it if the ball is kicked out of the ground.

ChiThistle
Completely in control, but should be 4-0. Crawford and Fitzy both should have done better. Still not really sure what Crawford offers. Night and day from prior games with passing and possession. Stringing together passes, patient attacks…..just the finishing that needs to be better. Some slick passes from Graham too.
