More importantly, after it looking like he might have been a poor recruit, it looks increasingly like (at the very least) he is versatile and reliable cover over the whole back four

Williams has played all across the back four and was good today … proving to be a good addition .

Definitely especially considering his personal circumstances too. Been very brave.

Another important goal from Alston who’s showing now he’s been a useful addition

Another slow start but a comfortable victory. Special mention to wee Stevie Lawless with another two assists, what a signing he has been. Fitzy was great too and Stanway got better and better. Neilson strolled through the game. And a peach of a strike from Alston!

A great result after a slow start. Gave QP far too much room. Fitzpatrick is becoming a very consistent performer and was deserving motm. Muirhead, Neilson and Williams were also impressive today. We didn’t do much after the 3rd goal, but Sneddon did well to keep the score to nil.

Sneddon was determined to keep his clean sheet. He was raging when we lost the late goal to Arbroath. He can say a wee thank you to Williams who put in a brilliant block tackle late on when a QP player seemed poised to score.

We started slowly but fortunately their No.18 made little of two good headed chances and then had a shot from just outside the six yard box which went out for a shy. Queens Park play strictly to the coaching manual about keeping possession but haven't reached the chapter about scoring goals. Once we found our stride, we ran out very comfortable winners.

They couldn't cope with  Fitzpatrick and there were pretty good performances all round with Stanway doing particularly well. Neilson almost scored what would be the best goal of his entire career and looks a class act...as did Conor McAvoy last season...how come all those Old Firm loanees are never of that standard?

Our record in all Cup competitions has been utterly abysmal for the 40 past years - it's long past time for us to make at least some impact.

We started slowly. Didn't really do much in the first 25 minutes or so after that we were more on the front foot. A brilliant goal by Alston and then Fitzpatrick's bullet header made it 2-0, 5 minutes or so into the second half game over as Aiden scores his second and Thistle's 3rd. Good all round performance from the team and Fitzpatrick deserved his MOTM award. Special mention for Lawless, Williams, Neilson and Stanway.
