Hopefully not too early with match thread 🙄.

Back on our travels.  A lot of folk debating final play off position but a loss here and suddenly 5th not too far away.  On brighter note though a win should put us in solid top 4 position.  Couple of narrow home defeats for Ayr in last 2 to the pair above us so will be a difficult game although hopefully I am right in thinking Dowds won’t play for them.  Can’t see our defence keeping a clean sheet so hope we have our shooting boots on.  Honestly can’t fathom a prediction as could be 4-4.  :fan:

Dowds won't be playing (thankfully). Loanees can't play against their parent club.

Hope O'Reilly is fit. Muirhead needs a rest Also need Lawless fit as Ayr's weakness is their fullbacks.

I would like to see Mitchell back and Stewart banished to another realm.

Not sure anything there is that likely. Reckon we'll be much as we were tho if Wee Stevie not available then we'll need to change formation.

Feel result will more or less define our attitude towards rest of the season. Win, then much as we were. Lose and we're more concerned with looking over our shoulder.

I think you are right regarding selection. If no Lawless its either Mackenzie on the wing or we change formation. However 3-5-2 would only really work if McMillan is fully fit so limited ways forward.

Also agree regarding the result defining our season. Lose and we could be caught by Ayr never mind Morton. Win and the top 4 starts to look more of a given for both us and Morton.

From his interview on Jagzone the manager said Lawless was back training today. Sneddon and O'Reilly both had scans so we will know fairly soon the extent of their injuries. Apart from that seems everyone else is available.

A big problem we have is that we don't have players that can challenge the the recognised starting 11  for a place.. Back 4 regardless of how many goals we loose , not going to change.  Midfield always the same,  Lawless..B.G. Fitzy.. nobody to challenge them... Big problem...

Kris Doolan also said that Stevie Lawless was a big player for us.

We’ve changed midfield by bring McBeth in, limited in defense as O’Rielly is injured.

Looked as if Lawless was holding his arm on Friday, so thinking maybe took a knock on it.

Nothing too serious I hope, as we need him.
