Another Glasgow Derby this time in the cup. Not the best tie but a winnable one at least.

Could be close but hopefully we can do the business before penalty kicks. Extra-time if the game is drawn after 90 minutes.

Can we dream of another visit or two to Hampden this season? Here's hoping.

C'mon the Jags!

Absolutely. There will definitely be another visit for a league game

I used to dream of getting through and getting a money spinning cup run in the hope that I might see Thistle at Hampden for Semi-final or Final

Now I dream of getting through and getting a money spinning cup run in the hope that we never have to mention Tranche's again or a t least for 12 months

That's the effect of how much time we live online on social media, forums, etc It's like 24 hour news x 1000. The same discussions getting re-hashed ad-infinitum, wasting time (doom) scrolling through message upon message, a lot of it on topics you wouldn't previously have had any interest in.

Think I'll stick to talking about Thistle in the pub with my mates, except I very rarely go to the pub and even more rarely see my mates anywhere other than online... Think I'll become a hermit.

Excited for this one and chuffed to be there in person.  Bringing along my bro-in-law and a good pal from the Manc area.

Recommendations for good pubs near the ground?

I usually go to the Florida Park. Clockwork is popular too but both had issues with staff numbers last visit.

There is always the International on Aitkenhead road, which is about a 10 minute walk up to Hampden, and our turnstile is at that end..

We have never beaten Queens at Hampden in the cup nor have we ever scored a goal in any of these - albeit few - games (The Archive is great!!). Perhaps this will change on Saturday, perhaps not.

As an aside, I presume the Board will have allowed for cup elimination at this stage in their income calculations for the season but that is to conflate one tedious thread with something a little more interesting.

Except that I remember the strange 4-5 win at Hampden - strange because it looked as if both sides had decided not to bother with goalkeeping, defences or any of that newfangled stuff, and scored each time they took the ball up the park. Admittedly, that was not THE Cup but the "Ramsden" Cup. (League Cup? I've lost track of all these name changes.) Anyway, it was a very strange game.

A memorable game. Muirhead was new to centreback and I think his first pairing with Conrad. So I felt a tad sorry for Scully who got a fair bit of stick that night.

Sean Welsh getting injured was hardly a rare occurrence but I don't think you could put his substitution that night down to being injury prone.

Not in the cup that was the challenge cup.
