Prediction:

Dundee United 3, Thistle 0

I'm getting pretty good at this, unfortunately.

Will quitongo be away?   Scobbie I assume cannot play?  Perhaps new players arrive? Manager will set up not to lose?

Prediction : 3-0 to United as Neilson gets a reaction from his players and Caldwell does not

Neilson must be thanking his lucky stars he has us next week. After losing to Alloa he needs 3 points to avoid the fans getting on his back. We are the team everyone else wants to play at the moment because as demonstrated yesterday by Morton you don't even have to play well against us and you'll still win.

Who really cares anymore?

I care. The people in leadership roles at our club - principally the manager and chairman - are leading us to catastrophe. I really care about that, and can’t remember ever being as angry at the management of our club as I currently am. This is not a time for apathy, it’s a time to say clearly and strongly that change has to happen. If that means being vocal about it at the Dundee United game then that’s what has to happen.

Agree. Unfortunately the apathy on this thread I also felt at Firhill yesterday. For the majority of the game there was no atmosphere and even leaving the ground nothing. We just seem to have accepted we are going down. Some mention the play offs, but if we continue the way we are going I think we could be bottom of the league. Next home game against Falkirk is massive. Wonder how many of our January transfer saviours will be in by then.

An utter humping coming up and Neilson thinking he dodged a bullet with us.

Agree (or should that be aGREe?) that we have been absolutely dire this season, but I think that only once have we been on the receiving end of an utter humping (1-5 v Morton).

We seem to specialise more in dismal defeats. So to show my faith in the team I am going to predict a dismal defeat rather than an utter humping.

With the players we currently have:

..............................Sneddon

Elliott.....Saunders.....McGinty.....Penrice

............Spittal.....Slater.....Bannigan

Erskine...............Doolan..............Storey

Although Storey isn't in great form I think we'll need his pace away from home, without him in we're really short on pace up top. 4 at the back, with midfield better protecting the back 4 is better than 5 at the back I'd say.

No Harkins?

Harkins in. Storey out...please

Well, not exactly disagreeing with you, well yes I suppose I have to. Dropping to Dick Campbell time levels of pace kinda highlights the hopelessness of it all. The sad reality more or less dictates that Storey has to start. Who knows but Harkins sauntering down one side with Storey either on the other wing, or miraculously remaining onside ahead of Gary on the same flank, could produce that magic missing ingredient.

Could Fitzpatrick not provide the pace? More confidence in him than Storey. Fitzpatrick still learning and improving and has marvellous potential. Storey has had more than enough chances, is totally unreliable and cannot shoot.

I was half hoping that Inverness might try to re-sign Storey in the window. They are drawing a lot of games and perhaps need someone to fire them on to a winning streak. Storey had a great record there and they might hope that he could recapture that form back in that familiar successful environment.

Hopefully they would ignore his record at Thistle in the same way that we ignored Caldwell's record at Chesterfield.

Erskine has to start. I sense that he may be beginning to run into some improved form.

I for one will not be  making the effort to go up to  Dungdee on Saturday ,  my one man protest  vote.. I have been to all the away games this season except Dross County...If our results had been better I would be there but defeat after defeat  ,its 5  hours out my my day  that I am not going to be suffering going and coming home...
