denismcquadeno.eleven 105 Report post Posted May 26 (edited) I was wondering,, did anyone on this site get a piece of the Firhill turf and if so, where did you decide to put it? I didn’t get a piece, but I think if I had, I would want to have travelled to London and laid it on the steps of Downing Street, with a message pinned to it reading, “A message for the PM, It rhymes with ‘CLOD’!” Edited May 26 by denismcquadeno.eleven

I thought we were digging down to at least the underground to fix our pitch. So, this has just got to be a photo from days gone bye. Please, oh Lord!, let's assume that the very least that is going to happen is the canal is diverted via the South and East Ends of Glasgow. It would be a generous gesture by the City of Glasgow. Leaving us dry. Which, naturally, will be our new problem!
sandy 952 Report post Posted May 27 Douglas, I’d heard we were going to raise the pitch by 20m all over so we were above the canal water level. Mind you, that means we’d lose about 1000 seats due to poor visibility. Luckily we don’t need more than 9,000 these days
denismcquadeno.eleven 105 Report post Posted May 30 (edited) Now that the ‘hallowed turf’ offer has been and gone, it’s on to the next one. There’s always an offer to Thistle fans on the website! But, some fans must have deeper pockets than others in these financially hard times. The second batch of pre-worn (by players!) Thistle strips are currently up for auction (previously it was the Scottish Cup 1921 commemoratives, now it’s the 1971 vintage) Each has a reserve price of £50. But some are more valued than others, because Stuart Bannigan’s no.8 jersey has already reached £200, with the auction still having another week or so to run. Then, there are the 2022/23 season tickets, due to be announced and sold shortly. Next month (starting the day after tomorrow) the new replica home strip will go on sale, to be followed later by the away outfit. Phew! PS: In the video on the website, where Ian McCall is seen being interviewed, promoting the season tickets, is it just my imagination or does he look decidedly THINNER?!!!
