I started the match thread for our last 2 league games and we got a win and a draw. Similar results against Queens Park in our next 2 games would see us matching up with Ayr in the Semi Final of the playoffs.

Like just about every other Thistle fan i had hoped if we did not win the league we could at last improve on last seasons 4th position. But we now end 22/23 season in the same position as last season.

Season 22/23 has not been without its problems both on and off the pitch. We first had the prolonged departure of our previous board, a new temporary board taking over. We also had the sacking of our previous management team and a new smaller in quantity and less experienced management team taking over.

I admire your courage in starting another double-headed match thread. Leading from the front as always, just like you do in the John Lambie Stand. If you maintain your win plus draw record we will of course end up in the Premier League.

A potential sticking point for Friday?

Sometimes you just have to laugh 🤣

"

Argenbright Security Europe Limited (ASEL) and its associated companies, Amberstone Security, The Protector group and Tailored Fire and Security (TFS) are holding the charity football match at Stenhousemuir FC’s Ochilview Park from 7pm on Friday, May 12.

The event aims to raise cash for The Laughter Specialists Charitable Trust, which supports vulnerable children and their families through engaging and supportive interactions."

Hopefully we will be laughing after the second leg. :getmecoat:

"

Queen’s Park FC would like to advise that despite today being a Bank Holiday the club are working on the Ticketing arrangements for Friday night’s Premiership Play-off Second Leg Match with Partick Thistle at Ochilview.

Discussions between the clubs, as well as our colleagues at Stenhousemuir, and various authorities are ongoing and the outcome of these talks will be announced as soon as possible on the club website."

All the best to Dools for the situation with his father (and of course his father); have been through similar tough situations.

For the game about to unfold.... I'm slightly worried by the notion that we'll take "confidence" from our big win against them not so long ago....... I fear that "confidence" might equal complacency, and the belief that senseless sideways passing for long stretches of the game will somehow inevitably translate into a win.... experience shows that often it doesn't!

If we go in at half-time 3-0 up then I'll start to feel confident. Anything below that will have me bricking it not just for tonight, but for Friday too.

Then, there's another two similar hurdles to overcome....... Does this squad really have it in them to pull it off? Would love it to be so!!!

I expect tonight will be a very tight game and that any result is possible, even a QP win!

To win I think we have to get in about them from the first whistle to the final whistle.

The QP players will be up for this and will remember the 4-0 ,hammering they got on their last visit. I hope I am wrong but I wouldn't be surprised if our guys are on the end of a few hefty tackles. If so our players need to stay calm and disciplined in the face of any such provocation.

A fair and strong referee is required

3-1 the jags

Not so nevous about this game as I was for Friday night.  Partially due to the fact that I don't expect us to make it all the way through given the scale of ties we have to navigate.  However I do expect a positive result against Queens - then we never know!
