eljaggo
Is it allowable for an SFA referee to unilaterally move his watch forward by one hour today during the match?Β In ending the game early, he could cite poor quality play, the need to get to the bookies before it closes, a better game on the tele, etc.

jaggy
Not many updates in the thread today. Jimmy McD
Just in from that shittthole... what a disgrace not to let our fans into the main stand, 20 minutes we stood waiting to get in, thanks to all the young guys who came out, and eventually we got in.. great result for us.. but don't think I will be back there.. 1

partickthedog
Just in after a thorough drenching in the Wee Dublin End. Not a bad game of football given the incredibly difficult conditions. First 20 minutes of the first half we were better, but then Morton took over for the rest of the half. Second half was more evenly matched in terms of both teams having shorter spells when they were on top. We had a particularly good 10 minutes leading up to the goal, so based on that I would say that we just merited the victory, though a draw would also have been a fair result. A few quick points to mention. Megwa was absolutely outstanding, especially in the second half, so was man of the match for me. Fitzy made a very strong impact off the bench, running at defenders and turning them inside out. Banzo was almost flawless and kept tidying things up all over the pitch. Budd did not have any difficult saves, but his positioning and alertness was very impressive. Always in the right place. OβReilly put in some superb blocks when we were under pressure. He did really well for the goal. I thought that Turnerβs cross was slightly over hit, but Dan got in a brave diving header at the far post. The ball took an age to cross the line! The referee seemed to end the game very early so maybe his watch had gone 5 minutes forward to remind him to do the other 55 later. I thought that we had a few minutes more bombardment to endure, so it was a huge relief when the whistle blew. Β Β
laukat
I think there was game plan by Wilson & Graham to start 3-5-2 and invite Morton onto us particularly because the conditions in the first 45 were terrible. When Turner and Fitzpatrick came on and we switched to 4-2-3-1 Morton didn't have many answers and we looked the more likely to take all 3 points. So to my mind that's another one that the management team have made the right selection and changes to change the game. Great to see O'Reilly get the winner in such a tight game, the guy puts his body on the line every week. Would also love to see Aschroft get one. O'Reilly's goal seemed to take a long time to trundle over the line, I suspect the Morton defence will think they should have got their and Imrie will be raging at losing to a goal like that which makes it all the sweeter Megwa was really good today. Aschroft and O'Reilly were really solid. Best midfielder was Bannigan. Graham absolutely owned the Morton left sided central defender (Boyes?) I think we ended Morton's season today which seems like some small payback for having to pay Β£22 to watch a game from a cramped tiny bit of an antiquated stand or plastic benches that you have to stand on to stay out of the standing water whilst they closed off the only dry section of the cowshed because their own fans can't behave, cash only pie stalls in this age is mental and charging Β£16 for a 16 year old. Also their lack of roof on the cowshed looks embarrassing for a championship level club. Β Β

geecee
Megwa my MOTM.Β Ashcroft outstanding again, think we're used to him being good therefore doesn't get many mentions. Charmers was quiet today, his timing of jumping for headers seems way off, always up way too early.Β Jacubiak showing signs of how awful he was last time.Β Brilliant result and looking at all the fixtures I'm confident we are safe for 4th place. Raith and Morton to play Livi and Falkirk in 2 of their next 3 games and still have to play each other.Β Oops I just had a Dingwall flashback.Β

Muscat Jag
Megwa was outstanding, particularly in defense. Keep up our current defensive solidity and we should be good for the remaining play off spot.
