p12tfc
Celtic away, same as our last League Cup quarter final when we lost on penalties... Come on the Jags I still have nightmares about this game. Did we not have 2 or 3 penalties to win? Hardie was one of them I'm sure

Jaggernaut
That penalty night at Porkheid was surreal. Was it Trigger whose header was clearly over the line? Reminiscent of the goal-that-never-was against the h uns at Hampden all those years ago, though that was for "offside."
lady-isobel-barnett
We also had a goal chopped off at the away end. Ball had clearly crossed the line. Could only blame the linesman for that one. The ref was Willie Young and he was obviously stranded at the half way line
Dick Dastardly
For an unseaded draw, it is quite amazing that the top 4 teams remaining (on last season's league placings) all avoided each other.
potty trained
I had went with a couple of Celtic supporting mates from that period. Both sat in the thistle end and neither could believe we didn't go through. The three of us went to the Hoops Bar I think it's called, across from the Barra's after the game, me in full Thistle colours. The feeling was very similar to my mates and I had a good few pints bought for me as compensation for the defeat.
partickthedog
We had 3 chances to sink a penalty to win (because Kenny Arthur kept saving theirs). I think the other one (as well as Hardie and Craigan) was Kenny Milne. I can remember that we had a decent view that night, so hopefully we will not all be cramped up behind that giant stanchion as per the league game. twinny
I remember that ball over the line so clearly. I have posted on this and previous forums about it. I worked at the ground in hospitality and was watching the game from an unused hospitality box on that goal line. When I posted previously I had people telling me it was never over, but I am adamant that it was. That night was absolutely mental!

Had completely forgotten about Mad Mental's Maw. Was all the talk the next day.

My seat was in line with the goal line and it was half a yard over the line, at least. it was also entertaining having the Celtic creche over on our right hand side, that night. Lindau
That was one of the biggest boot in the Georgie Daws ever that night. Couldn't believe that we squandered three penalties to win the game. Was nearly greeting walking out that ground that night

stillresigned
Christ was that really 12 years ago? Doesn't seem like that to me, a sure sign of getting old. Remember had a few days holiday due and came up for the game on a whim!

jif
Does anyone know when the date of the game game will be confirmed, I'm off Wednesday and Thursday that week as flights and hotel are cheap at the minute. Really don't want it to be the TV game, as this will the the excuse the wife will be looking for to say NO you're not going
mgow
I too recall the disappointment of having missed so many chances to cause an upset. Also, the ignominy of having one set of OF fans tell you "yir team wus unlucky". However, the funniest thing was the next day talking to an Aberdeen fan. They had shipped 7 goals at Parkhead not long before in 90 minutes of a league game. He pointed out that Thistle had played 120 minutes, given them 9 penalties and had still conceded fewer goals.

Norgethistle
The way we're playing just now Celtic will put 7 past us....... but being the great Glasgow alternative and as unpredictable as the Stavanger weather, i think we will sneak it
