Sevco....the First Ever Visit To Firhill 26/11/2016

Six pages (and counting) of unadultered seethe and idiocy on Rangers Media about a 'small and insignificant club' and it's only Wednesday! Imagine what they could have achieved had they put as much time and energy into saving their club?

Our average attendance may only be between 3-4K, but we managed to save our club in our darkest hour and as a result, we're Glasgow's oldest professional football club with 140 years of unbroken history.

Just watch them on Saturday before the game, shuffling along Firhill Road, knuckles scrapping the ground, wearing ill-fitting McEwans Lager strips that haven't been washed since they were first purchased in the early 90's and listen to them spew their sectarian poison. Look at them and listen to them, and then say to yourself - 'thank **** I'm not one of them'.

It's not even good patter, it's pretty awful actually. It's like, their dads patter from 20 years ago recycled, absolutely boggin. Not even worth reading for a laugh.

I'm hoping since Dundee nearly held out for a draw we will be slightly better than last time, but you never know with us this season.

This should be on a massive poster inside the Jackie Husband Stand. :clapping:

Very easy to categorise them as knuckle draggers, but unfortunately there are thousands of them whom we live beside, work with and possibly socialise with who also participate in the poison and hatred. And those who do not participate are just as bad if they idly stand by without saying anything. Mon the Jags

In fairness, these people are mostly very stupid, lead terrible lives with little of value, living in filthy hovels. All they have to cling on to in life is the "achievements" of a dead football club - "achievements" being winning domestic football titles in Scotland, all the while indulging in constant violence and bigotry and refusing to believe they were one of the most despised institutions in the world of football.

With Rangers still being weak at defending balls into the box, we really need to capitalise our set pieces as well as getting in as many quality crosses as we can. Sadly we didn't do that at Ibrox but I'm guessing that lessons were learnt from that day.

If we sit back and invite them onto us, going deeper and deeper in our own half, we'll be in trouble.

But I've got a feeling it'll be a good game, with both teams scoring.

C'mon the jags!!!!!

you are absolutely correct G13 - they live and breathe amongst us, living almost normal lives within the constraints of society during the week at home and at work - however once gathered together as a collective they spew their filth whilst hiding behind the anonymity of the crowd, complete and utter hypocrites and sh*tebags each and every one - and too stupid to step out of the shadows of hundreds of years of ancestral bigotry to actually think for themselves and choose their own path in life tied down by their da's and their da's da's loyalty to being a complete and utter c*ck in full regalia - maybe they cannot shake it as it's the only history they now have since their beloved big hoose went ti*ts up and their old club doesn't exist.

I hope we pump them ... get it right up them .. 'mon the Jags

Why is H*n/h*ns a sweary word on this site? There was a time when it was just a generic insult to opposition fans of various teams. ("If I had a tommy gun I'd shoot every ****** H*n" - heard on corporation bus going to Parkead many many years ago). OK I know over time it's come to be associated more with TRFC due to their pseudo-"loyalist" attitudes inlcuding support of the house of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha but that is more a joke than anything. Yes, some of the TRFC fans make out this is some kind of racism but we all know this is imaginary and just reflects the massive chips these guys have on their shoulders. Why do we have to kow-tow to it?

Edit: I see "f*nian" isn't allowed. Which makes nonsense of part of my post. "F*nian h*n" is what I posted (with added vowels), sung by Rangers fans... actually not very nice but I used it to show that way back in the day, Rangers fans sometimes used it about Celtic fans.

I don't have an answer (answers) to this, Mr Bunny. Like many I have a reasonable grasp on history but merely "reasonable" in that subject often finds you looking like you've lost arguments to someone who swears they know all the facts.

Maybe I'm out on a limb here, but harmless as I think it is, I feel we shouldn't use the word "h*n", or for that matter other monikers that may not be totally accurate when describing fans of tomorrow's opponents. Besides displaying such disregard is something we really should be above. Look at it if nothing else as a gesture of goodwill, but I really believe we should show considerably more respect to these Neanderthal knuckle draggers.

A direct quote from the Sevco AGM by Mr King

"Put simply, your board recognises that we have to spend more than we earn for an as yet undetermined period, but this operating deficit will be prudently funded and managed".

In other words living outwith there means or cheating until they win something and achieve playing European football. Where is the financial fair play here? Hopefully this mismanagement will result in another trip down the lower leagues.

On to tomorrow, anything like last week and we can forget it. Intae them from the start, bit more creativeness, imagination and quality in the final third and we should win. Time to shake this 'cuddly toy' image once an for all.

^^^

Financial Fair Play was put on the back burner by the football authorities as soon as they realised no one was going to be throwing money at Sevco any time soon. That meant bringing in FFP would very likely damage their favourite team, so no fair play rules.

It's a strange philosophy to overspend if that overspending won't ever result in increased revenue. They can comfortably spend at their current rate and secure second every season of their money is well invested in the right players and club officials. So what will overspending do other than close the gap to Celtic and make their club debt burdened again? Certainly overspending won't guarantee titles or Champions League football so the financial riches to rebalance their debt won't be realised. Lessons learned? I think not.

All good points, but if you were a supporter of the club would you accept that?

So onto the main point of this thread, the game tomorrow. Think it will be a low scoring game 1-0 us or 1-1. They are no a good team and we just have to get stuck right in about them from the start. Get in their faces and donor let them dominate the ball.

Also think Archie will change it back to a back 4 for this game, also think a few changes will be made.

King will be well aware of the ticking clock. Celtic and the old club have each won nine in a row. If the new club doesn't stop Celtic repeating the feat, there will be blood on the carpet at Ibrox. He can play a long game for now but as time goes on the natives will become more restless. Interesting times.

Just my opinion on a couple of things in this thread... H*n....in the days gone by it meant the Germans, now directed towards Protestant, loyalists unionists ect ******...in the days gone by meant Irish rebellion soldier, now Catholic, If we put these 2 words into the modern day meanings then they are just as bad as calling someone a gypsy *******, a black B, Jewish c*nt ect. They have no place in Scottish football, so yes the 2 arse cheeks both indulge in it in their song sheets, but as a lot have said on here we shouldn't lower ourselves to their level. So onto the main point of this thread, the game tomorrow. Think it will be a low scoring game 1-0 us or 1-1. They are no a good team and we just have to get stuck right in about them from the start. F*nian has always been name calling of Catholics (usually but not always Celtic supporters) on the illogic of Irish = F*nian supporter (a political thing originally) therefore at a time when most catholics were Irish immigrants they must (by this illogic) be f*nians. H*ns on the other hand wasn't always solely applied to R*ngers supporters. In the example I gave above (which I actually overheard being sung on a bus heading to Parkhead) Celtic supporters were described by Rangers supporters as "F*nian h*ns". At that time the oppposition fans were often called "h*ns" - the enemy. I don't know for sure how far back that goes. In more recent times it seems to be applied only to Rangers. It's nonsense to suggest it is anything more than a mild insult (possibly even joking) and can't in any way be compared to name calling of Jews and other races/religions. If you accept that you'll accept any nonsense that lot come out with.

Edit: And I should add it's also very insuting to Jews and various races who do get genuine hate slung at them to compare what they get with the chip-on-shoulder nonsense TRFC fans come out with re "h*ns".

What will make our times even more interesting is if we bag the first goal tomorrow, something that we haven't done against either arse cheek since.......................way too long. So hope Archie abandons the conservative approach.

The nature of this current Rangers version is that they are not bad going forward but dubious at the back. Just common sense dictates not sitting back and letting them play - instead pressure their back line using Dools' energy and Azeez's pace. Don't let them settle.
