Barney Rubble
We were never interested in Scott McDonald, never even offered him a deal! Not the case on either front Pinhead.
mhs
We were never interested in Scott McDonald, never even offered him a deal! I think, recalling when I read his interview, McDonald said us and St Johnstone approached him.
Pinhead
Not the case on either front Pinhead. sure is, straight from the mouth of the man in charge of signing him

Everyone's got their agenda - even Ray McKinnon.
JAG1970
Lyle Taylor out of favour at Wimbledon apparently. So what? A fan told me on Tuesday we'd put an offer in for him. Rubbish I thought and still do. But hey, it's.a forum and we're all desperate for something to happen!

A failure at every club he's ever been owned by.........................
Paukea
If we signed Lyle Taylor and a decent centre half I would have us down for Europe and maybe more..We can always dream
Dark Passenger
But just not Lyle Taylor, thanks! A failure at every club he's ever been owned by......................... He's scored 37 goals in two seasons with Wimbledon. Your definition of failure must differ from mine.

OK Poor analysis on my part, I accept the criticism. But why do Wimbledon not have faith in him? Also he shat all over us twice before. Why go once more? Dark Passenger
I don't think they have. The rumour that we've made a bid for him stems from a joke post on P&B.

sandy
Well we had an awful start and got pumped out the Bet fred Cup by Dundee United. But we didn't finish 8th, so your narrative fails
Jaggernaut
So we stand still while the sides below us improve their squads? Sound logic. New signings per se do not always equate to improving squads, as too many of our own signings have shown over many seasons.
sabbath
The Sabbath speaks..........Scott McDonald is a good footballer who can play at the level we have in Scotland for another 5 years........That's how bad Scottish football is. We already a proven goal scorer in Dools...pretty much the same type of player as McDonald, so, like Baird, not what we require. I like Taylor but I agree with the doubters....The same style and build of Taylor is what we should be aiming for with a goal scoring CV....and also an experienced 6' 4" + centre half....thus ends the thoughts of the Sabbath.........carry on. MonehJags
It would have been cheaper to match Killies offer to Erwin than to buy Taylor and pay his contract so by that equation, the Taylor rumour sounds nonsense
Alan Murray
Going by what Archie said on Jagszone I would be expecting a number of players in before the Hibs game.
oneteaminglasgow
Are we just taking the Erwin thing as indisputable fact then?
mhs
Are we just taking the Erwin thing as indisputable fact then? As indisputable as our massive bid for Taylor, yes.

I have heard him say about getting players in already this preseason and it hasn't happened yet. Fingers crossed!

BowenBoys
Good strikers don't come cheap. Last year the U.S. military spent $42m trying to get a strong centre forward.
lady-isobel-barnett
Lyle Taylor again. FFS. Aye, I know. Wouldn't be the transfer window without his name popping up. Sabbath has tho' made a point and I agree. A player with Taylor's style of play is the type of forward we should be looking at.
