jaggy
Winnable home game. What's wrong with that?
Albert's Ghost
Would be nice to play someone new - even just from a different league.

And as been said it's repetition. This will make it a minimum 7 games against them this season. Absolutely agree. Just think of all these exotically named teams BowenBoys has introduced to us in the pop-up competition.
Garscube Road End 2
Might tune in to watch tomorrow's game at Holm Park. Many a time at the old Park watching Yoker.
lady-isobel-barnett
2012/13 we were regularly beating Dunfermline for fun in the league. Somehow contrived to let them knock us out the Scottish Cup. Wouldn't mind history repeating itself in terms of the bigger picture.

Agree but the hopeless repetition is not caused by the Scottish Cup/SFA. The SPFL is 100% to blame for endorsing these inane incestuous sized leagues.
fifexile
Wouldn't fancy being a Hamilton fan for many, many reasons but going to Auchinleck in the cup would be another....
elevenone
Friday night now for our Dunfermline cup game due to Queens Park being at home on the Sat. Seems a strange logic in the explanation and would imagine this will cut the 3pm Sat expected attendance. https://ptfc.co.uk/ptfc-news/scottish-cup-tie-moved-to-friday-night/ Edited November 3, 2021 by elevenone

The revenue for all we know could finance a couple of additional signings. The deal tho' is far from all on the credit side. Some fans may stay away if they think the pitch is affecting their entertainment. But this goes move straight to the debit side Worse for us as the cost of stewarding etc will be constant even tho' the crowd will be much reduced. Increased use of floodlights, lower turnover in hospitality etc. I don't suppose Dunfermline will be too chuffed either.

However, it seems that SPFL business trumps the overall governing body. In recent seasons when we have had a Friday night game at Firhill, the attendance has been comparable with a Saturday game. At least that’s how it has seemed to me.
AlgarveJag
I think this answers a number of posters regarding ambition, as it clearly indicates a desire/intention to progress in the cup over a higher gate receipt on a Saturday. East Kent Jag II
I believe season tickets won't apply for this match. My concern is that being a Friday evening, there is a Cup match live on TV, as this will certainly affect attendance.

BowenBoys
Only one televised tie in this round. Brechin v Darvel on Monday.

It’s the planning that is at fault. In my view the SPFL Trust matches shouldn’t have been scheduled that week to allow for this kind of scenario.
