jagfox
Big chance to build some forward momentum if we can get 3 points against Academical tomorrow. Hopefully another week of training will have the players more confident in their new formation. Accies haven't had the best of starts either and we should be looking at our first win on the road after disappointing away results so far. exiledjag
With the exception of the 1-6 game, away games against Hamilton have been generally close. As we are not the free scoring team of recent seasons I expect a close game tomorrow and I am hopeful of a win. It will all depend on two things happening. We play well and the referee is competent and impartial. In other words does his job. Fingers crossed. 2-0 the Jags.

partickthedog
I would really hope that we do not persist with 3 centre backs. To me that only works when the centre of the 3 is a creative ball player who can step forward into midfield or at times even carry the ball through the midfield. Alan Hansen, Scott Paterson and the first year version of Adam Barton are good examples. Even Lewis Neilson showed some signs of that ability last season. To have 3 similar defenders whose default options are pass it sideways or boot it long just does not do it for me. Surely we do not need to show Hamilton that much respect. We were fortunate last week, but I think that in general we have better prospects in a flowing game than in a scrappy one.

I don’t see it as showing Hamilton respect. I see it as developing on last week, particularly with Ablade/Megwa on one side and Fitzpatrick/Milne on the other. Incidentally, I don’t think it is the default option to play sideways - Crawford and Turner aren’t making themselves free to collect the ball. CotterJag
Every week will throw up at least 3 key games and today is no different. Can't make my mind up if by Christmas, one or two teams will be away with it or if you'll be able to throw a blanket over the league, as will be so close. If Raith win today, I might be thinking the latter could happen. Bad things happen when I predict scores for us, so I'll just say; Up The Jags. McBeth distribution from Centre Back is generally awful from what I've witnessed so far this season. Somebody do me a favour and keep a count of his misplaced passes today. 👍

But, I think when he is playing the simple ball forward to whoever is playing right fullback or right wing, he has been fairly accurate. It’s when he tries the cross field passes that it goes astray. partickthedog
Not fantastic so far, but we are playing better than last week and have created some decent chances. Harry is getting a lot of space. Has not made good use of it so far, but hopefully that time will come. Defence sound apart from one mistake by Aero which allowed Hamilton attacker through one on one. Myles made excellent save. Further forward, a lot more crosses than last week. For some reason there is a reluctance to shoot, waiting for the perfect opportunity. Just hit it!
Jimmy McD
Can someone get a message to Dools that this formation, if that's what it's called , it's not working..
Yellow & Redneck
If Doolan can't turn this around, he should be out on his arse. The amount of money we have spent being pissed up the wall by someone as tactically inept as him.

The Legend Blows
I'm pretty certain there will be two worse teams than us this season so that's a positive, but you've got to wonder how long those in charge will wait before he gets the chop.

You have wanted all of Archibald , Caldwell, McCall and now Doolan sacked as soon as the going gets tough . Does it never occur to you that supporting your team through a difficult period might be the better approach? As for seeing what is in front of you - you must have great vision from Aberdeen .
Yellow & Redneck
Another loss. League is well and truly gone already despite the size of the squad. Wouldn't have had a better chance of challenging for the league than this season. Doolan's crap, uninspiring signing, and his tactical nonsense have cost us.
