Lindau
Been plenty of rain since Friday, but with cold, dry weather predicted for Monday and Tuesday, surely this will get the go ahead. If there is any doubt could the sponsors not just throw the 2000 cushions on the pitch, just to ensure it gets the thumbs up from the ref!! We really need to hit the ground running in the next two games. At least we seem to now have a fully fit squad to choose from and I am pretty sure it's going to be well used over the next 6 weeks or so. Third Lanark
Good points I'm sure the issues of pogbas fitness and the new guys German and Nesbits fitness will be much improved now they have had several weeks to bed in. Hopefully with the rest the likes of Frasers injuries would improve as well
Lindau
View of the pitch I haven't seen. Â https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/aberdeen-fc/reds-rage-at-late-call-off/
Weebaw1
I do not want to see 3 lumbering centre backs plus a non attacking right back. The thought of going 1 down in the 80th minute, then big Liam having get down the flank and put in crosses is too much to even think about. Â We have some good attackers. Let's use them this time. Dick Dastardly
Saints had been on a dreadful run until Saturday. It is usualy against us that teams manage to end bad runs, so perhaps Motherwell did us a favour. Saints are there for the taking, so lets get after them and claim all 3 points without a nervy end. lady-isobel-barnett
I reckon it's fair to assume we'd have played three at the back against Hearts and most likely also against Aberdeen. Could well mean if we've been practising little else over the last three weeks Archie will stick with it on Tuesday. Whether a home game against St Johnstone is ideal for a 3-5-2 is questionable but, as stated by a few elsewhere, that formation needn't be seen as purely defensive. It's the one way we can play two upfront. Also playing with a little less width might not be daft given the state of the wide areas of the pitch. I would worry tho' about a front two of Doolan and Lawless if the pitch is heavy.
stillresigned
Hopefully this game will go ahead tomorrow evening if the weather holds fair. Looking forward to seeing the Jags again!
mulguy jag
It would be scandalous if the match was off tomorrow night.
Firhillista
It would be scandalous if the match was off tomorrow night. If the pitch is unplayable, the pitch is unplayable, scandal or not. It's not as if the club isn't doing anything. I was up at the ground at 11.15 this morning when they were taking the covers off and the badly affected bit at the city end was just a stretch of standing water. The groundsmen were working on getting the water off it as I was leaving. Latest information from the club is pretty optimisitc about the game going ahead, though. King Kenny
Going by a few pics on Twitter and updates on the evening news the pitch will be good to go tomorrow night (providing no more rain!) Bit bare in the usual places but looks better than Motherwell game
Big Col
I really hope the game goes ahead. Â The players are well rested and any injury niggles will have had time to clear. Â We should be well up for this game and set about them from the first whistle and batter them. Â C'mon the Jags!
javeajag
According to maxi if the weather forecast is accurate the match will def be on
mulguy jag
I have noticed that Glasgow warriors ground staff at scotstoun use a famework with many large heat lamps attached. Is this used to encourage grass growth or wet area drying.?
Firhillista
I have noticed that Glasgow warriors ground staff at scotstoun use a famework with many large heat lamps attached. Is this used to encourage grass growth or wet area drying.? Â It simulates natural sunlight and is intended to encourage the grass to grow. Thistle have been using the same technology on the Firhill pitch, but I suspect the grass would have to grow helluva fast for it to make much difference!

allyo
So the game's probably on. On to the team. Â Anyone remember who plays for us?
The Earl of Hathaway
Total hostage to fortune, but I'm going to say it anyway. We're on the best run of results against St Johnstone that I can remember and I can't see any reason for tomorrow to break it. We haven't played in over two weeks so the players should be fresh and raring to go. St Johnstone aren't looking any great shakes and they took their time to get the win over Motherwell on Saturday. Dumbaya's out but Miller played well against them (understatement ) the last time out.
jags on tour
Cerny Booth Seaborne Frans Miller (I think Archie said Dumbaya is still injured on the radio) Osman Fraser Lawless Bannigan Nesbitt Doolan  athough I fear for the worst with this back 3 nonsense and you can guarantee Welsh will play and Nesbit won't so ignore my lineup!

Paulo
I hope we don't go with 3 centre backs and Miller at wing back. If we have to go for 3 at the back, let's have Elliott at wing back. Miller would give you a shift anywhere on the park, but I just don't see him as a wing back. ian_mac
I'd have Miller on the right hand side CB if we play a 3-5-2. Start Elliot wide right. I think he gives us more than enough defensively, and with the added pace going forward. He's looked excellent since he came back from injury. Auld Jag
Time to take advantage of our games in hand.Lets go with an attacking team and get 3points that would push us up the league and hopefully set us on the way of another good run.
