Blues Brother
Simply the best first touch I've seen in recent years, his status as a legend is assured.
Fawlty Towers
Echo the comments about his skill on the pitch and the way he conducts himself off it. I think he was doing some coaching at youth level for Killie when he was playing in the juniors and I would hope that when he gets towards the end of his playing days (hopefully a good few years away) he can get involved at our club as I can't think of anyone better to help bring through the next generation of Thistle players. Hopefully as well as Dumbaya Archie is quickly extending Kris contract
ian_mac
What else can you say about the guy? His 2 goals yesterday - he placed the ball inch perfectly on both occasions. What a fantastic example he is to any young player coming through the ranks. He should be recruited for the thistle weir academy on the day he retires. He's the best professional we've had at the club in my lifetime. And yes, I can't think of anyone else with a better first touch in Scottish Football.

Agree with everything you say and in all my years watching PTFC , Kris Doolan can be added to the great strikers we've had over the years Bone/Coulston , Somner and Mojo . Think he deserves his place in that company .
David Brent
When he was about to shoot for his first goal did anyone think he was going to miss? I doubt it, his composure in front of goal is sublime.
ColinKelvin
Doolan's been at the heart of our revival of late. He's an absolute class act and I agree with pretty much everything said on this thread. The Hibs goal is my favourite; bookmarked on Youtube! He should be at the club for the rest of his career (and beyond as a coach).
Duke Gekantawa
Duke Gekantawa is probably my favourite ever Thistle striker. Thanks
digger
When Thistle do Kris' testimonial they will have to find a way round him having to pay tax on it because he deserves every penny he gets.

Well as you no doubt know if a testimonial committee is arm length from its employers then paying tax is traditionally avoided. If wearethistle can, albeit with an excellent driving force in B.B., can raise £2K + in a matter of months then I don't think we'll have too much problem either organising a committee or raising a bucket load of cash for Mr Doolan. The way he squeezed the ball in at the near post for his first goal was brilliant. And you could see that he was just so confident that it came naturally to him, whereas many other strikers would have gone for the bigger, easier, but easier-to-save option. Class.
thebiglemon
What I liked about the goal was the movement away from defenders to a place where Lawless could easily pick him out while making sure he didn't go offside. Could be a while before we see Pogba starting a game
ColinKelvin
I prefer that far superior striker for Partick, Doohlan. Doohlan and Lawleff were a deadly combo for well over a year... according to the BBC.
ian_mac
When Thistle do Kris' testimonial they will have to find a way round him having to pay tax on it because he deserves every penny he gets. You'll notice that a player never gives any sort of speech before during or after a testimonial event, whether that be a match, a golf day or a sportsmans dinner. The sole reason for this is to avoid tax.

Mr Bunny
By the way, not that Sportscene has the angles covered, but first goal did look offside. He's almost out of picture at the start of the move but it looked to me like a Killie player on the other side of the penalty area was just playing him on. As you say it's difficult to be certain with them not giving you much of an alternative angle.
angry gaz
A big difference when comparing Dools to other past strikers that he has played mainly up front himself when in the past all the others mentioned had a real strike partner. Bone had Coulston, Somner had Craig , Melrose had McAdam, Mojo had ,erm, Tony Higgins, Gerree had Geordie. I think its difficult to compare him to these guys because of this. Strikers are judged on goals a season in the top flight and I think he needs to up his tally a wee bit to be a real great, imho but if we can give him the service he;ll get there. A cracking player for us. Also honourable mentions to Marko and Rodeee. Edited November 30, 2015 by angry gaz
