Every Scotland player was magnificent tonight.

Special mention to the unsung heroes SOD, McGregor and Jack. All three were magnificent doing the dirty jobs that rarely get noticed by the social media cognoscenti.

There's a certain humour to Scotland qualifying for a tournament for the first time in 23 years.......................and two of the games are in Glasgow!!!

The first time I saw Lyndon Dykes play for Queen of the South against us I though that he was a player. Fantastic performance from him. Won so many balls in the air and kept us up the pitch. No harm to McBurnie and Paterson, but the two of them achieved less together than Dykes did by himself.

That was Clarke's one bad shout of the evening.

Bringing on one of McBurnie and Paterson for Dykes made sense, but not bringing on Griffiths as opposed to Paterson meant the shape and pattern was lost as soon as the equaliser went in.

Fortunately it all worked out.

5 pens out of 5 is quite a feat!  Bringing on Griffiths and him taking the first is quite a management call from Steve Clarke!

If only Thistle had cojones like that, & could finish off a game with such panache,  I doubt we' would be where we are..

Czech Republic & Croatia in Glasgow, & England at Wembley.  Bring it on :sfa:

It’s 10 out of 10. Scotland have yet to miss a penalty in a penalty shootout ever

Fantastic- a real boost during an absolutely horrendous year for the country (indeed the world)

great team spirit as has already been said. Every player a legend and even a wee Thistle connection with SOD and even smaller connection - Declan Gallagher was once an 18 year old trialist for us

well done Stevie Clarke

Brilliant result and great to see guys like O'Donnell, Dykes and Gallagher be such a major part of the success. Guys like those have had to work their way back from the footballing scrap heap and deserve their chance. Such a refreshing change from the Fergusons and McGregors of this world who turned up when they wanted and played their own game.

Watched Dykes playing for QOS against us and I'm amazed at the transformation in him. Couldn't believe Livingston took him into the premier league far less that he would be an international striker making international defenders look silly.

It puts paid to the idea that you need to be in EPL or playing for the old firm to be a success at international football and that there is no talent in the lower Scottish leagues. You need a manager that organises and selects a team based on what will work best and players who do the job they are asked.

Other managers would have dropped O'Donnell, Dykes and Gallagher in favour of playing Palmer, McKenna, McBurnie or Cooper as they are percieved as playing at a higher level. Perhaps that ethos stems from having a manager who has himself came from a provincial club having previously being in the managerial wilderness.

Full credit to Steve Clarke. He's got us organised, looks like he's solved the Tierney and Robertson conundrum and created an atmosphere that players will do what is asked just to be part of it. We might lose every game at the finals but its infinetly better than not being there.

Special mention to Ryan Christie. The goal was good but his post match interview was the encapsulation of 22 years of watching Scotland. Tears, snotters and for once absolute joy.

Couldn't agree more. Just hope Scott Brown doesn't decide to do a Sinatra and come out of retirement yet again and expect to be in the squad for next year.
