exiledjag
⁷I know Ayr are a good side and finished in second but there was only a point between us so small margins. I feel confident (almost) that we can win this tonight now that Akinyema is injured. He has scored just about a third of Ayr's goals! However, without Akinjema the Ayr players might be forced to play more as a team which might cause us problems. Another performance like the twp 4-0 defeats of Queens Park and we will be fine! Start on front foot stay on front foot! Mon the Jags

Garscube Road End 2
Never wanted Lawless back, but he has been outstanding, especially since Doolan took over.

Lenziejag
Totally dominated after the 1st 5 minutes or so. Should have been 5 or 6. Mitchell made a couple of good saves at the end to make sure the score stayed at 0. Lawless, Tiffoney, Fitzpatrick had them on toast.

Great team performance but agree that those 3 in particular, were unplayable

Lawless has been very good for most of the season. Had a wee dip in form a few months back but not for long. Tonight tho' he was indeed outstanding. His first touch was incredible. Drew two out to mark him for much of the first half allowing Tiff that bit more room inside. Rarely gives the ball away so cutting down any counter attacks. Great player.
Lambies Lost Doo
Loved that game. Pitch invaders were annoying. It was stupid restricting tickets for Lambie Stand. That caused people pushing to move into that stand at half time. Every player was very good and I have full confidence we will be in the premiership play off.
Auld Jag
A commanding performance after we scored. Special mention for Mitchell who pulled off a good save at 0-0 and then in the final minute to keep what could be a very important clean sheet. Brownlie and Fitzpatrick also deserve a mention. Not a failure in our side tonight. We can't get complacent, we don't want to do a Peterborough. Thanks to @Grubber8468 for getting me the ticket for the John Lambie stand. The guy who ran onto the pitch with the flare was not smart or funny. Edited May 19 by Auld Jag
partickthedog
Could have been more, but equally could have been less. Credit to Mitchell and the defence. Ayr had the better of the first quarter hour, and there was quite a long spell at 2-0 mid second half when they were in the ascendancy. If they had pulled one back to finish 2-1, the psychological balance might have shifted. There was a real focused determination not to concede. Anniesland Jag
Another entertaining Friday night under the floodlights in Wonderful Maryhill….ye just cannae beat it . Splendid team performance and team spirit all underpinned by our great support.Tie not over but would take a massive slide in form to lose this now . Amazing quick changes of direction from a dead start. Tiffoney: A frightening experience for defenders when he's on form. Fitzpatrick: Bursts of speed and power that can get him past one or more defenders. Edited May 19 by Jaggernaut

And the club posted on twitter: “There aren't many home end tickets left for tonight's play-off semi-final first leg against Ayr United at Firhill with the John Lambie Stand already at full capacity” but 5k Thistle fans turned up with two stands that have a combined capacity of 8k…. Doesn’t add up! As for the game, another great performance throughout the team and only gripe was it should have been more. But I fancy us to score at Somerset and reach the final.
