Airdrie play some good possession football and seem better than us at playing the telling pass to the one player in space. Things improved in the last 15 minutes when our players were more on their toes and up quickly to challenge the Airdrie player in possession and sometimes to get to the ball first. From my angle there seemed at least a possibility that their shot which appeared to hit the bar and bounce in a strange direction might have been in. Williams needs to be more confident in stepping forward with the ball when there is space in front of him. A few good combination moves but overall we are not really gelling. Passive by-standers for 30 mins of that second half which isn’t acceptable. Early days but we’ve failed to keep a clean sheet in the 6 competitive matches played this season and thrown away a lead in 4 of them. Lots to fix. McMillan and Lawless started in the usual manner but then seemed to stop. I am sure that we will get there but would seem that clear thinking and a fully fit squad would help.
