Lenziejag
Not a competition that we have excelled in, frequently losing to opposition from a lower league early on. Surely with the increased prize money and the need to build some momentum, we won’t see many, if any, changes from last week.
Dick Dastardly
I’d like to see Sayers and Ablade start to give Harry and BBG a rest
lady-isobel-barnett
Jags vs Wasps? Played to a conclusion so someone's gonna get stung. Agree with both the momentum and increased prize money argument for putting out a strong team. In previous years the Board ideally preferred an away tie at a nearby venue from a financial point of view. I think we should go with a strong starting XI and if things going our way bring on the fringe players as early as possible. A bit tough on the likes of MacKenzie, Lyon and even McCready but if any exceptions to be made I'd go with Smith & Ablade. Believe Ashcroft may have joined Muirhead on the injury list so perhaps Wasiri will play alongside O'Reilly. One thing that will interest me is the pace & stamina issue. A full time squad should always win that battle against part time opposition. I'm not so sure of late we've been matching our peers when it comes to pace & stamina. jaggy
Does anyone know if it’s extra time if required or straight to pens? I couldn’t find the answer on the spfl website

I couldn’t find the answer on the spfl website I am guessing extra time will be played, as we did so in our final against Queen of the South in 2013 before going to penalties. But I suppose they could have changed the rules since.

Lenziejag
Not sure if Robinson is available for this. Doolan mentioned Stanway coming back into the squad but not Robinson. Was it a 3 game suspension he got ?

Derby Jag
I don't understand why we would have any need to be resting players at this stage for any fitness considerations. However I do think we should be starting a few pringe players to see what they can offer and frankly if we can't beat Alloa we sjoukdn be concerned. jaggy
It would be good for Smith, Sayers and Ablade to get some decent game time if possible, but the main objective is to win. For all that some moan about it it’s our only realistic chance of winning a cup. apart from the result the final we played in was a great day out for most of us I think

Although it could be a 3 game and if it is I would prefer it used up on this cup game than another league game. I agree I would like to see smith, Ablade and Sayers come in. Give Bbg and Milne a rest, maybe even fitzy and keep in chalmers in the hope a goal or something notable might give him the confidence boost he needs to kick start his thistle career. Otherwise I would keep it the same with a 50/50 between Mackenzie or Lyon to start.

Third Lanark
Not been able to make game so listened to commentary and BBC Commentators really not impressed by Chalmers. Easily outmuscled on the ball and no work ethic to get ball back. Then saying so lazy to get out of offside positions. They are saying Doolan should be raging with him. No doubt bags of ability but barely looked like showing it since he has come to Firhill.

Pretty much spot on - he has eased off the ball too easily - lots of ability but you can see why he has bounced around clubs. Game is generally being played at pre-season pace

Third Lanark
my concern is that we are resembling Archies last period in the championship when he was sacked- players insipid, looking uninterested. Really concerning. Players just going through the motions and Doolan been loyal to them - giving likes of Banzo a 2 year deal when hes done little since getting it
