dunnikierjag
Storey has just come on as a sub for Aberdeen v Hamilton. I guess he is not coming to Firhill (or anywhere else) any time soon. Â Â And scored

ChiThistle
One would think we'd at least be an attractive destination for an on-loan striker; kind of surprised no whispers are floating about.
BowenBoys
Have been in a muddy field outside Inverness for a few days so playing catch up here.  Archie's comments in this article https://ptfc.co.uk/ptfc-news/nitriansky-joins-the-jags-ahead-of-ladbrokes-premiership-kick-off/, suggest that he has been signed on the strength of his showreel.  “Having spoken to him he’s ambitious to do well at this level in Scotland so we look forward to seeing him on the pitch."  If so, seems like a panic buy. Anyone know if that is so?

Anyone know if that is so? In his interview, Archie said that the player was suggested and touted by an agent (with some agents being more trusted than others), and that he had ambitions to play in either England or Scotland. On the face of it, it does seem like a risky signing. I think that is highlighted by only offering him a 1 year deal when we can now usually offer 2. However, the guy has turned out over 80 times for Slavia Prague at a period where they qualified twice for European competition. On top of that, in terms of quality, nearly all the clubs he has played at have been of a slightly better standard than ourselves, with Slavia obviously being orders of magnitude bigger than us. king of spain
As a top 6 club this is a truly shambolic way to start a league season. Only thistle from a position of strength would go out our way to make an arse of it. Â Does anyone actully believe the shite the board comes up with now ala top 6 identify targets quicker etc it's all horse shit. We aim for 11th and that's it, no more no less. ChiThistle
Identify targets quicker doesn't mean acquire targets quicker. Would be interested in hearing how many "early identified" targets still shot us down despite being a Top 6 club.

I wouldn't read too much into the 1 year deal. It;s quite possible that the player would have wanted that. Remember that he is moving from Czech Republic and it is one thing to commit to working in a foreign country for 1 year, but a bigger commitment to make for longer. The deal probably works both ways and there will no doubt be an extension if it works for both sides.

Thought Archie was quite clear about bringing in cover for the right back spot due to Muzzy being injured. So in face value Milan is only signed as a temporary measure. For all we know the Club offered him a six month contract and we had to compromise on a full season. He might well leave on some mutual agreement in January having done his job with both parties satisfied. He might as DD says commit for longer if we want him and he's settled. Nether outcome would be surprising. Signing a guy on recommendation alone on a two year contract would be a surprise. Look at the stick Archie got for Mukendi. And he was only on loan and cost us hee haw.

I don't think we're going to sign a striker, out of our two suggested targets Storey as mentioned above is probably going to St Johnstone and Graham has signed for Chesterfield.
