I agree with that line up. I know that Chalmers has made a slow start to his Thistle career. However, I think that being able to link with Megwa will enhance his game. Having an effective threat down the right may also open up more space and opportunities for Milne and Fitzpatrick down the left.

Let’s go back to playing attractive open attacking football and avoid the temptation to launch the long balls.

I think it is a must win game, both for Thistle and Doolan.

A win to give us some confidence that Doolan can turn our season round and also that we still have a shot at winning the league. I don't think a draw will show any great improvements and a defeat could sadly spell the end for Doolan.

Big crowd looking likely so hopefully a big performance from the Jags to kick start the season!

Thistle to win today and then go undefeated for the rest of 2024, on their way to winning the league.

Have no way whatsoever of backing up my optimism with any data or reasoning.

You may well be right. Only given our form a home draw against the league leaders could be seen as a creditable performance. Probably indicate improvement over recent results. However, no matter if improvement or not, not scoring goals and creating few chances could well signal managerial consequences. Put another way another goalless draw could well be seen in a worse light than a high scoring defeat.

Defence need to be on it today, ended up working at Falkirk v Ayr Utd last weekend. Although Ayr were poor Falkirk could easily have scored 3-4+ as they break out very quickly and I was struck by the resemblance to our 2012-13 squad on their style of play, free-flowing attacks, and always looking dangerous when they went forward. Definitely keep a back four again that if remains solid in a test like today and we finally grab a goal would be happy with. 1-1 for me
