jagfox
The Glasgow Derby returns with Thistle 3 points (and a game ahead) of Queen's. A win would be important for Jags. However our away form is dirt. The team showed some positive signs last week. Brian Graham back amongst the goals so I go into this with slightly more confidence than recent home games. QP have had a decent first quarter and I don't see another 3-0 win.
elevenone
Gonna be a toughie. Â Think QP are 7 unbeaten since losing to us and as you say our away form leaving a lot to be desired. Â Bookies have us as slight favs so fingers crossed they are on the money. Â To me it has a nervy 0-0 feel about it but hope am wrong. lady-isobel-barnett
I think there's enough improvement in our play to scrape a win. But realistically a draw shouldn't arrest the slight momentum we've got going. If it's the latter a lot riding on the manner of the draw. I'd rather see us creating chances and missing them rather than another stalemate type game, like against Livingston. An important factor to a good performance will be avoiding involving Graham in too many build ups. Attacking midfield should do just that and leave BG to get into scoring positions.

fifexile
Do QP ever use Lesser Hampden or is it just a training ground for them and the Scotland squad?

I think some of their games are at lesser Hampden depending on how many visiting fans they will get.
robphil
Watching the champions' league highlights it was noticeable that the corners which threw most defences into chaos were of the 'driven' variety rather than 'floaters.' hopefully our lads reached a similar conclusion... Most teams at Champions League level have at least one player who can competently strike driven corners. Driven corners are much harder then floated corners as it is realy quite difficult to beat the first man without overhitting it. The skill is somewhat similar to going for goal at a free kick (beating the wall without overhitting). Fans get very impatient when corners hit the first man, which means that players at our level tend to "play it safe" with the floater. I would much rather we went for more driven corners, but we would have to accept a significant number hitting the first man (or being overhit). Turner was brilliant at these flat driven balls from corners then, for some reason (probably under instruction), has reverted to high floaty efforts that are a big defender's dream - lots of time to jockey for position and head it to relative safety. Agreed - and I'm baffled as to why.
lady-isobel-barnett
Me baffled as well. Turner's deliveries, especially his in-swingers, were flatter and more productive in earlier seasons.
partickthedog
I can recall that in past seasons at corners Aero Muirhead was very good at near post headers, and that Ross Docherty was very good at near post flicks (ie with his feet) and that several goals resulted from these. Effectively they made themselves the "first man" whom the ball hit. I have not really noticed anyone else taking up this mantle this season. This all feeds into the theme of floaty corners mid goalmouth or back post which goalkeepers and tall defenders can mop up easily. We should be stretching defenders more and making them have to move and think, thus increasing the opportunity of a mistake, or a runner being unmarked. In the hope that nobody was watching Match of the Day last weekend, maybe we should try the Bournemouth/Ryan Christie corner routine. Albert's Ghost
Should be the same 11, same formation, who started last week. Should be a good game.

Same team and a positive approach. Would be great to be back in a play off position. I appreciate that is the lowest level of our expectation, but if we can get to 4th, we can perhaps aim to target the rest one at a time. Anyway, first things first, and we have to get an away win on the board tomorrow, especially as we always carry such a good away support, which deserves some reward and encouragement!
belfastjag
Getting a lift tomorrow from a Queens supporter. More of the same from last week. When we're in front, don't bottle it. Look for more. Worst pies in the division. Do not try one.
