Big Col
5 minutes ago, Fearchar said: It's astonishing to see how so many players manage to launch the ball to an opposition player - even from a dead ball. Individually, this team looks inferior to the Falkirk players, yet on paper they should surely be better. Players like Spittal seem to want to watch the ball coming, at which point, obviously, a more alert opposing player nips in to collect it , as often as not unchallenged. It's as if they're playing on treacle. What are they doing in training? Getting injured.

northernsoul
It doesn't matter what week, month or year it is. We are subjected to the same turgid football. That's four games into the season where we have not kept a clean sheet and have conceded first in all of those. We never start the game brightly, we never stamp our mark on the game. The same core of losers who got us relegated lasts season keep producing the goods and keep shiting their pants when the pressure is on. That squad of players, bar a select few are absolutely hopeless.

lady-isobel-barnett
Obviously not good but missing the penalty cost us. Falkirk missed a sitter but so did we (from Docherty) so that kinda cancelled things out, so ultimately the spot miss was crucial.

Camallain
I am getting truly sick of conceding late goals but worse than that is the sitting back and trying to defend a lead, especially at Firhill, we have been doing it for years and lets face it we simply are garbage at it. We go from a position of dominance to clinging on by our fingertips (and then falling) simply because we have taken the lead....... why the hell do we need sit back and defend, FFS go for the win! If we If we lose a goal that way at least we do whilst trying to win the game. There are times supporting Thistle can be hard.....this is one of them
Muscat Jag
Partick Thistle shitting themselves in the 3rd tier of Scottish Football. Truly pathetic. The same thing happened in the Airdrie game. We were lucky they didn't get a probably deserved equaliser.

elevenone
As brutal as that was can I also add how bad Falkirk looked too. Thought Airdrie looked better than them.

Results on the park are not paramount importance now.

east end jag
Thought it was strange that when Lyons came on, Graham dropped back from playing as the target man. Most of our out balls from that point on where high and through the middle giving Lyons little chance of holding the ball up and coming straight back at us. I thought the sub should have been Niang to hold the midfield with probably Spittal going off.

laukat
Williamson and Cardle combined well in attack but we did look more fragile at right back when defending. So I can understand McCall wanted to strengthen that side of the pitch with a few minutes to go but he should have swapped Foster for Williamson rather than Gordon for Cardle. I thought we played better than Falkirk overall. The 2 goals lost, particularly the first are the type lost when you have not a lot of confidence and not a lot of luck.
gianlucatoni
I wonder if they actually practice defending a lead in training- it’s not rocket science two rows of five parking the bus and everything is chased down, crosses are prevented and bodies are put on the line ... plus one or two of the midfield five are breakout options ... the mind boggles fs

Whilst the team did well to recover from a goal down and a missed penalty, our failure to retain possession and sitting too deep in the last 15 mins meant we threw away a victory. Some decent play in the second half but further improvement is needed if we want to get out of this league via playoffs. Wake up and smell the coffee. We are on track to get out of this league via the playoff. Out of this league and into the 4th tier.
Auld Jag
Mixed feelings. At half time i would have taken a point. After going ahead really disappointed we didn't hold on. Why did Graham not stay up front and play alongside Lyons, sometimes the best way to defend is attack.
